Yesterday I fell and doing so bent my replaced knee over what it can go, it gave a heavy clonk and since I have been in heaps of pain.

Has anyone else done this, it still moves and so is in position, but the pain on the outer side of the knee is very bad!

Zech, please get it checked. It is probably fine, but best to be on the safe side, particularly with all the pain.

I did much the same thing , when I slipped in some water, about three weeks after having my TKR. I didn`t have pain though, and it settled down very quickly. Shook me up though!.........Ange.

I have no idea but I think you should get it checked - it doesn't sound at all right. I wish you well. DD

    Oh dear ouch indeed!

Sorry I can't advise but do hope all is well for you. Do get it checked out when you can and I hope it is a little less painful now. ((( )))

    Hi Zec

Good to hear from you as it has been quite a time but not about the fall. I too would seek advice and perhaps an xray may be in order if it does not settle down. It is very early days since the fall and I am sure it will more than likely settle in due course but for peace of mind seeing someone in the know would be a very good idea. I expect it was an much a shock to your knee as it was to you.

I do hope the pain goes quickly,

    Luv

    Hi zec

Bet that hurt (hope you didn't swear) I would have :)

I agree with every one else that you should probably get it checked. I haven't had a knee replacement but I can imagine.

    Hope it is ok

    Oh Zech,

I always panic when I trip that I have damaged my THR... and I can fall over fresh air!! Really hurts too, doesn't it? The fact that your knee is still bending ok is a good sign for the mechanics of the joint but if the pain continues you should get it checked. I know when I fall the pain is often worst until the bruising comes out and that can take time. I'm sure you are applying ice and resting plenty. Arnica cream is good for bruising too.

    Take care,

    Speedy
I have had OA since mid twenties. It affects my hips and knees. I had a THR on the left aged 30 and now have a resurface-replacement on the right - done May 2010.

Hi Zech, sorry to hear about your fall. As the others have said it does sound as if you should get it checked out sooner rather than later. Really hope that all is ok and that the pain from your fall subsides soon.

    Thinking of you.
