Hi everyone, I know its been a while since I was last on, I hope everyone is doing as well as can be :)

Ive been away for a bit whilst my boys are on their school holidays, trying to get some days out when Im feeling good enough and keeping them entertained. I even managed to take a trip down some caves on a 1 mile walk!! I was quite proud of myself! Suffered the day after but it made my boys smile so it was worth it :D

How is everyone?
I have finally took the plunge and made an appointment with the CAB to fill in the DLA forms. Ive been getting progressively worse and my husband (the wonderful man that he is) has been taking care of me like Im a queen.

I have an appointment booked for Tuesday to go through the forms. Fingers crossed. Im going really for the care element as he does pretty much everything for me, from cleaning and washing me to preparing the meals and helping me dress...

Wish me luck lol
My best to all sufferers and those caring for them.
Caroline xx

OMG. You joined on my birthday! Help with forms is always a good idea, just don't underplay stuff too much. Pride does not come into this, be honest. I wish you well, dippy. DD

Hi there, well done for the cave walk, amazing what we manage to see a smile on their faces!!

When you fill in the forms with the advisor - base the answers on a bad day.

I have had OA since mid twenties. It affects my hips and knees. I had a THR on the left aged 30 and now have a resurface-replacement on the right - done May 2010.

    Hi Caroline

Wishing you all the best with the DLA forms. Sounds as though you have a great husband. Hold onto him! What an achievement a long walk and venturing into some caves. Hope there are lots of piccies for you to look at to refresh your memory just in case, you wonder whether you imagined it all.

    Keep on, keeping on,

    Luv

Thanks for the returning welcome folks, was lovely to wake up to this morning.

Im feeling confident about being able to say/put forward how bad I am to the CAB (not so confident on actually getting the DLA! lol) but I can only tell them the truth, that my hubby does everything.

As for the caves, it sounds worse than it was thankfully. Thought Id give it a go and it didn't feel like a mile. Even though we went approx 300ft underground, the actually walk was gradual and I didn't notice it, the lady guide kept stopping to describe details of the cave so I was able to get some rest and there were the occassional benches to sit down. (I also doped up on pain killers before we went!! )

Will keep you posted on the appointment with the CAB Tuesday.
Have a lovely weekend (as good as can be anyway)
