Hi
Sorry I don't have the answer to that but wanted to wish you good luck when you do have it done.
I hope you can drive your car again after you have recoverd.

From reading people's threads about life post THR it was a slight problem as was getting in and out of the car - apparently there is a 90 degree rule that should no be broken or summat like that. I have a very thin swivel seat cushion which does help with the getting out, but I haven't had any hip surgery. I know that marion1952 and speedalong have recently chatted about this as they are recovering from hip ops - hopefull they'll spot this and give a proper answer. I wish you well. Get on to the guys on LWA who have had them.
Love and good luck

How the hell do you drive a mini with a hip bad enough for a THR! Even after my THR I couldnt get in a mini.
You do need to sit some cushions after the op to raise you up as you mustnt bend the knee above the hip.
Good luck

I wondered about that but if it's one of the new BMW minis they're higher. I always wanted a mini, the sort with the string you pulled to open the door, sliding windows. A proper one. Mind you, if someone gave me a beemer version I wouldn't turn it down! DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

I agree they are lovely. But sadly I will have to give them a miss.

Hi Trisha
Not sure how high or low a mini seat is
but after I had my THR last Xmas, the OT/physios
sent me home with a plastic sheet, actually I think
it was one of the aprons that nurses use and its to
go on the car seat and then you go to sit
'bum' first and then swivel round.
If its a very low seat then to be honest I dont
think it will be suitable.
Its 6 weeks no driving, but thats my health authority
maybe they arent all the same.
Hope it goes well for you
