Had my first one (self injected!) on Tuesday in my stomach. Now I feel it is sore underneath, feels bruised but no sign of it on the surface. Anyone else had this problem?

HI Salamander
Occasionally I get a small faint yellowish bruise where I have injected the methotrexate .. can't really say whether it hurts underneath though ...
Sometimes, I find the needles are very sharp and go in very easily, sometimes less sharp and I have to really push to get it in..
Good for you for giving it a go (I put it off for months and now I don't mind doing it at all)..

I occasionally get a lump under the injection site which is sore and can be painful which goes down after a day. I have also occasionally hit a vein and had a big bruise on my belly where it has bled under the skin but they tend not to hurt just look very ugly xx Try not to worry and I hope you get some relief from it.

Thanks everyone. My gp rang this morning and said sometimes you can get an internal bruise or even nerve pain so hope it will go soon. I have given many injections before as a nurse many moons ago but first time to myself! Thought I would start on my stomach as that is the place I am most squeamish about. Might stick to my thighs in future, less stuff going on underneath. Felt it was best to just go for it. Am hoping to do better on the injections. This damned disease just seems rampant in me. Had to have a steroid injection as well on Tuesday as everything really inflamed.
Thanks for the support.
