Hi All
I have just confirmed my appointment at Wrightington and as its a total of 113 miles for the round journey I asked the cashier's office there if I could claim travel expenses. The lady who was most helpful told me if my benenfits was income based I could claim. I am on appeal at moment for ESA and going to the dreaded tribunal later this year and even though had looked this up on google, wasnt sure if ESA applied.
I rang up DWP, they told me i was on income based benefits. I asked for proof of this as this is what I need to show the cashier's office when i arrive for my appointment to fill out a travel expenses form. Now its only 12p a mile but its better than nothing and I for one plan to treat my dad who always accompanies me to these appintments, to a bottle of his favourite tipple, Glayva!!
Anyway just thought would tell others, you can claim if on ESA like me...I dont know about DLA but hey isnt it worth asking if you can claim back a wee bit.....May or may not be useful information to some......
