I wonder if anyone has had experience of an injection into the synovail space, it has to be done under xray to make sure it goes just in the right space between the ball and socket? It is a mixture of steroid and local anesthetic.
I had a similar injection into my shoulder joint, as access to the shoulder's synovial space is easier my GP was able to do that. I have also had a steroid injection for bursitus - the result was marvelous, sadly the shoulder less so.
I have postponed THR as I am starting a taught Master's in October [given a September surgery date] My consultant has offered this injection as a stop gap.

    Hi
I have had this done in my spine, like you say it was done under anesthetic, I got a small amount of relief, they do say that it works for some and not for others.
I do hope that it works for you, and good luck at university.

If it`s what I`m thinking of Fe, our own Elna had it done, with very good results. She certainly had something under X Ray for sciatica, and it has worked really well.

I`m sure she`ll be around later to give her help........Ange.

    Hi Fe,

Yep had some of these and also have some into the myelin sheath of the bone as well. Sometimes they work well and sometimes they work less well but have yet to have one that didn't help at all. Good luck if you go for it. Cris x

I've only had my knees done. The results were never that wonderful, three days benefit tops, but we're all different in our reactions. I wish you well. DD
Have you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben
