Knitters??

Come on I know there must be a few of you out there who knit? I started knitting last Christmas as a friend bought me a childrens (age 8+) lean how to knit kit and I was hooked.
However my progress came to a halt a few months ago when I started with symptoms of RA in my hands, and found it quite difficult to hold the needles properly. Last weekend I found the solution, bigger needles! So now I have some lovely fat knitting needs, some random chucky wool that feels nice and warm while I work with it, and some spare time.
Anyone got any hints on easy things to knit with big needles, there are only so many scarves I can make I have started making a blanket, just knitting up 6" squares so it looks like I am getting somewhere and a rather slow rate..
Any ideas welcome
Rach

Oh I like your thinking, a nice long one to keep the drafts out and my joints toasty warm.0

Rach, there are hundreds of easy patterns out there for chunky wool and big needles. Google 'knitting patterns'.
Think I might do the same...........but those here who were around last year and remember the saga of the hat will groan very loudly!

I was listening to Radio 5live last Thursday evening (I think) nad Peter Allan interviewed a lady of 100 years who knits jumpers for Australian penguins. Seriously. She does 'cos these little penguins need to be kept warm. She started knitting in her mid 90s when she was diagnosed with some form of cancer and had to undergo the foul treatments (we think we've got it bad) (and yes, we do, just in a different way) so she began knitting to take her mind off things. She had the all clear from cancer that day, her 100th birthday. Anyway, jumpers for penguins. Will that do for an idea? DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0
