Just thought I would give everyone an update on my DLA saga. I have written the letter to the Tribunal to get a copy of their full decision. Once I receive that I will decided whether or not to appeal to the Upper Tribunal.

I have also written a long letter about DLA and my case in particular. This letter is going to anyone & everyone - My MP, DWP, Secretary of State, Minister of Disabled.

I don't hold out hope of getting anything but I do want someone to sit up take not & answer my questions. If a form had been changed/falsified in the private sector lawyers would be involved but there seems to be no accuntabilty for ATOS & DWP.

I will let you know if anyone replies.

Anne

Well done you. It's people like you that get the ball rolling for others.
Bet it feels better for putting everything down in writing.
    Good luck with it all.

    Hi Anne

    Lovin' your fighting attitude.

I am disgusted with the system that you have to battle and fight and I wish you huge amounts of luck and positive thoughts.

    Keep us updated.

    Hi Ann :D

good on you girl :!: and I hope you get answers to how they have reached their unbelievable decision and who was responsible for changing the info on that form.

The falsifying information on the Form is a serious matter and you are entitled to make a formal complaint about that and have it investigated. The process for making a complaint is held by them like a closely guarded secret...I know as I made a complaint last year about a breach of confidentiality by JobcentrePlus and had major difficulties getting to the right person who would/ could deal with my complaint!.

If you want to complain you need to do so in writing to the Manager of the office who dealt with your application specifying that you are making a formal complaint. Send a copy to your MP and keep a copy yourself. Be as detailed as you can...dates etc. and if you have a copy of the DLA assessment form before it was altered, then send a copy to them too. Ask them to send you an acknowledgement that they are dealing with your complaint. That way you know the clock is ticking. I think the timescale for dealing with Formal Complaints is 40 days.
My MP was very helpful..so I hope yours will be too.

It's a long frustrating process Ann but we will be with you every step of the way.

ps. if they phone you...insist that they contact you only in writing that way you have a chronology and proof of what was said. x
