Hi all, wanted to thank people for the advice they gave me when i was having a hard time recently cos my knees were playin up badly. I took the advice went to the doctors again - have given in and started using a stick (at the age of 32 - not impressed, but it does help!), seeing the consultant tomorrow to hopefully book in for operations on my knees to reallign my knee caps and that should make them feel better for about 3 years - yeah!!
So thank you all for the push i needed to get back to the doctors
Lynn
x :)

Hi Lynn, so glad the stick is helping - sometimes practicality has to win over vanity doesn't it?

Really good luck at consultant tomorrow. Will be thinking of you and please do post with an update.

    Love Tilly x

Thanks Tilly, i do struggle with the vanity side of it, even though i know it is stupid, i was at a concert yesterday and saw someone i knew and i hid from them so they wouldn't see me with the stick - silly!! But still, it definitely helps so onwards and upwards.
    Will keep you posted x

Thank you beowolf. I googled along those lines also and got one with blue circles on it, a folding one so it goes away in my bag easily so its not too bad
    Hope you are well x

Well done to you on getting things sorted. Your stick is a blessing, not a curse. It will ease some of the strain on your joints and make the good times last a little longer. At least with sticks you can get pretty ones, and ones that fold up. I wish you well. DD
Have you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben

Hi when I used a stick eeeeeoooonnnnss ago (cant use em now)

I just had a black fold up stick. I used to stick stickers in it to make it pretty but now there are some lovely ones around. Make it a statement and walk tall 8)

Hi, I'm glad you've had some useful advice and help. OK, a stick isn't the most glamorus thing in the world, but its better than having a fall and I know when I use mine, I feel more confident (I'm55, so quite a bit older than you)! I is possible to jazz them up a bit with stickers and things and some that you can buy are quite nice, modern colours ect. or a nice sophisticated black with a silver (painted) handle. It could start a fashion trend!

    Good luck and love Sue
