Oh lavenderlady ...I am so sorry to hear about your little granddaughter :( this is such a worry for you I'm sure.

I don't have the right words to say that will make this time any easier for you and your family but will be around to support you any time, and in any way I can.

there are other mums and grans around the forum who have experience and knowledge of coping with juvenile arthritis who I'm sure will be along to offer you advice.

our helpline peeps are also around Mon-Fri so you could phone them for advice and support ...and information on this form of arthritis. Or post a question on the helpline forum.

gentle (((hugs))) for you, your daughter and granddaughter.

keep in touch and let us know how you all are..

Oh lavenderlady, I am so sorry. Try posting on the young person's forum too - many parents and grandparents check in there from time to time, and someone might be able to offer some help or advice. OA does show on Xrays, RA can be diagnosed by blood tests, but as you have found, sero-negative cannot as it doesn't show up. Thinking of you. DD
Have you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben

    Hi Lavenderlady,

I am sorry to read your news and hope they will soon be able to help her and get her more comfortable as well. Its a very good hospital she is going to and well I know its a distance away but she will get very good care there. I hope your daughter will be ok and not have any kind of bone trouble. Is she saying she has bones that hurt? I am so sorry I can't be of any help but thinking of you. Cris x

    Hi Lavender Lady

My heart goes out to you as a mother of two and a grandmother to be I cannot imagine how hard it must be to watch those you love suffering. I think this disease is particularly cruel when it attacks children.....to be robbed of their childhood is just unbearable. I just hope that they can find the right meds for her ..please let us know how she gets on.

    Love and hugs SS

thankyou all so much I am going to give her mum Lisa this web site so she can get some up to date information about what Kassidys going through and what to expect, it will help us all, right now Arther just seems to be a big part of our life, with practically all my joints affected and TWR due to be done shortly plus knee and hip in the not too distant future worrying maybe unnecesary about my 15 year old daughter and now Kassidy as well, if I could have one wish it would be to find a complete cure for all types of arthritis Kassidy was delighted to find we both use the same cream for our joints telling everyone she uses nannys cream bless her its just not fair

    Hi,

All i can say is try to be positive and try to always think how it could be much worse! I too have seronegative arthritis and it is good that they have picked up on the fact it is seronegative. It took them over a year to diagnose me due to the fact that it wasn't showing in my bloods and i got to a point whereby they were even insinuating that there was nothing wrong with me! Also, starting treatment at an ealry age could work for the best as she will grow up thinking it is the norm and hopefully it will be controlled to the point where it will minimise the risk of joint damage in later life.

    Keep smiling.

Oh Lavenderlady, I am so sorry to hear this news. The only thing I can think of to say is that at least it has been picked up quickly and hopefully early treatment wil get it under control and give Kassidy some much needed relief. Thinking of you all. Love Tilly x
