I live in my Crocs. They cushion the foot wonderfully well, and substantially lessen the impact of hard surfaces when walking. DD

I hope you like them! I have one pair of Birkenstocks but I find them very inflexible - my arthritis now affects all my toes, both ankles and knees and my sacro iliac joints. We have wooden floors, they're fine. Rugs are too dangerous. By hard surfaces I meant concrete, paving slabs and other materials of that ilk.

I also find my ankles toes and knee joints all hurt from hard surfaces and even uneven surfaces, went to a festival sunday and my joints were gradually getting more and more painful as the day wore on it was in a hugh field,
I swear by hotters shoes expensive but brilliant they feel like you are floating and have all different styles and widths, I wear sandles indoors as well, all Hotters though :D

Hi Bluebeard hope you like your Crocs.

Lavenderlady - do you buy your hotters from a shop (if so which one?) or online - I like to try shoes before I buy.

I have had OA since mid twenties. It affects my hips and knees. I had a THR on the left aged 30 and now have a resurface-replacement on the right - done May 2010.

    Hello.

I've become a great fan of Crocs (cheap varieties do equally well) especially teamed with thick soled sports socks. Not exactly the height of fashion but lots of bright colours and among the most comfortable footwear I've ever had. Plenty of room for swelling, and cushioning on all surfaces - indoors and out. Not brilliant in the wet though! Well worth trying at sometimes less than a fiver a pair.

Crocs are the Best, even better with some lovely woolly socks. Be careful in the wet though especially when they have had a bit of wear - they can get dangerously slippery. And such jolly colours too :)

In my opinion, you can't beat a good pair of supportive slippers. I've just got some fur lined ones. I wonder if you can get fur lined crocs. I think you can? :?: I need a soft sole in my shoes, otherwise it's just too painful.

My mate Wendy bought me croc slippers for Christmas last year. I cried when I opened them - such a good thought by her. I love 'em. You can remove the furry lining to wash them. DD

Just a word of warning with Crocs, I slipped on wet concrete whilst wearing them and fell on me arm and broke all my ribs underneath, I wasn't a happy bunny.

They also get wet inside whilst in the garden and you have to be careful not to slip sideways inside them. On the other hand, reading this, it could just be me??????

    8) Its a grin, honest! Well, thats my excuse....
