Hello! - I'm new to here and have a quickish question.

I'm going abroad for the first time next month, to Gran Canaria for my 21st Birthday.

I've got Inflammatry Arthritis and am currently on, a few meds including;
Meloxicam,
Methotrexate & Folic Acid
Co-Codamol
Loestrin

but i've been looking on the internet to see if there are any restrictions of taking these drugs in and out of our country and the canaries and im really baffled!!!

My friend said i need a letter from my gp stating my condition and so forth with a copy of my repeat prrescription to clarify that the drugs are mine.

but i dunno what i need to do as my rheumy said it should be fine to take them abroad with no letter.

an anyone help me?

thanks

Becky

    I think this: get a letter from your GP/rheumatologist and carry a copy of your repeat prescription with you. That way you are covered in case of need. Better that than be arrested at an airport and then trying to start getting letters! DD
    Have you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben

    Your best bet is get a letter from the GP and to take a copy of your repeat prescription with you. Make sure all your meds are in their original packaging too.

    You should always take all your medication with you in your hand luggage just incase your hold baggage gets lost in transit. While you always buy new clothes, it isn't that easy to get hold of new meds, so better to be safe than sorry.

    Good advice as this is exactly what I do when travelling , definately keep your meds in original packaging and put it all together in your hand luggage.
