My Gran used to have this up as a sampler in her kitchen and always thought it rather true
"Make new friends, but keep the old,
one is silver, but the other is gold"
I am not sure if its part of a song?0 -
I always treat everyone the way I'd like to be treated. And I always try to be polite (I am, of course, human, so not polite all the time).
I make To Do lists all the time - a good starter for these is to make no 1: Write To Do List, then you can tick that off straight away. Very satisfying!
My basic philosophy in life could be summed up in these words: You can never have enough shoes.

Enjoy when you can, and endure when you must.
Never miss an opportunity to make others happy, even if you have to leave them alone, in order to do it.
Be pleasant until ten `o clock in the morning, and the rest of the day will take care of itself.

Food for thought, every single one. I can't think of anything to add except always be polite. It can smooth things over, ease awkwardness and bring peace. Has someone else said it already? DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0
