Had a really positive interview and medical, the Dr who did it was a female and some understanding of our struggle with RA. When I had to do the exercise's could only get through a few before I became unwell, she nearly s**t herself. Give her her dues she was really helpfull when this happened. My faith has been restored somewhat, but I could get a letter next week saying I am fit for work. Who Knows.
Cheers

Glad it went well John. I hope the outcome is positive of you. If they could spend a day in our bodies eh?

It all hangs on her report: no doubt she will state that you did the Highland Fling with no difficulty. I wish you well handsy - I hope it does end positively for you. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

Hi John
So glad you have got this out of the way, they are worrying.
How good that it went so well, like you say there are some nice people out there.
Hope it goes well for you.

Hi John
Like you I thought the Doc at my ATOS medical was very nice to me. He helped me to get on and off the bed and really empathised with me when I told him how a usual day is for me.
When I got a copy of the report, "I had got on and off the bed myself", "was able to drive into town for window shopping at least once a week" "was able to walk to the local shops get shopping and walk home carrying it" "was looked after at home by my adult daughter" (my daughter was 15" it went on and on. I phoned up ATOS because I though there had been an error in the typing pool and I had someone else report with my name on it.
No mistake, basically the report stated black when I answered white. So dont be fooled by them, I honestly feel the niceness is a way of getting you to say what they want to hear.
Hope it all goes your way.
Regards

Hi John,
Glad you've got the medical out of the way.
now it's 'just' the waiting.
I had my ATOS medical nearly two weeks ago.....heard nothing. Don't know if that's good or bad. :!:
good luck anyway with the outcome... maybe your assessor is professional and knows what arther is really like and will be fair in her report. fingers crossed

I hate to be negative too but please dont be tricked by thinking if she seemed sympathetic then she will make decision in your favour, it doesnt always go that way. My examiner was lovely said she could sympathise with me having an arthritic knee as she had knee problems too, she duped me into feeling a bit relaxed and off guard.
Its a sad state of affairs when we have got to be suspicious of people when they seem okay but this isnt real down to earth folk we are dealing with they are ruthless and single minded......
Hope you prove us all wrong...

Hi, I'm glad that you had a good experience, (even if it meant you felt awful at the time), some things just can't be lied about or overlooked. Well, I hope I'm right, surely thats the case. Wishing you all the luck in the world for a good result.

I wonder if, when I go for my assessment I might as well as them outright if the assessment is a waste of time so what is the point :?: :?:
i am getting really worried about it as no one on this site seems to have had a decent result from these assessments! Has anyone been told they are unfit to work and had a report written that says the truth :?: :?: :?:
a veery worried Louise xxx

Hi, The assessment is not too awful at the time. The problem I had was the result! ONce you have had the assesment, if you are unlucky enough to be refused, then you can ask for the full report and find out what they have to say about you and see if it matches your condition. If not then you appeal and then you do stand a higher chance of being awarded the benefit, I think, but I'm not sure of the statistics.
If you don't have the medical in the first place, then you don't stand a chance of appealing. Remember though, you may be lucky and get the benefit awarded to you straight away. Some people do! Try not to worry too much, as I said, I found the actual medical no different than any other medical, but do tell them the full story and don't gloss over anything!!!
Good luck, love Sue xxx0
