Thanks Cris, feel marginally better this morning but still not great. Am relieved that it's not too serious, just a very nasty bug.
    How are you today?

    Hi Sally :D

glad it was the nice doc that you know who came out to see you last night and that it isn't too serious (serious enough though!). Glam doc and wearing high heels... Wow, can't remember the last time I had any high heels on! or felt glammed up :lol: good for her !:D

hope the new antibiotics kick in soon. :!:

sound as though you have some really good friends Sally... worth their weight in gold. enjoy being looked after  and hope you feel better soon.

    Hi

Sorry to hear all the problems you have had recently. I am glad you got the doctor out to check you over. I hope the antibiotics really start to work and you feel much better.

Rest up and I am glad that you have some good friends to help you out. Don't be afraid to ask for what you need as they sometimes they don't really know unless you tell them.

I know how hard it can be when you live on your own and you are really unwell and it can also be scary too.

Hope you feel much better soon

    HI Sally,

glad that you got the doc to see you ..... and I really hope that the new meds do the trick for you.

Well done too on getting in touch with friends and asking for help. IT is not easy to ask for or accept help, but I am sure that your friends will be relieved that you have asked them rather than struggling on on your own.

I might be following your lead in contacting the doctors this weekend .... why do we only get worse on a bank holiday :? :? My GP changed my anti-inflam last week and I can't decide whether it is that or the antibiotics that is affecting my stomach. Now my sore throat has got much worse again so I might have to ring tomorrow

I can't say this is the fault of the MTX since I ahven't had any for 3 weeks ... but am still taking the leflunomide .... so maybe they'll stop that too

OH dear, have hijacked your thread

I'm with you on the missing MTX, and hoping that you are soon better and back on it (if that's what you want!)

    hugs

hi Wonky, sorry to hear you are feeling rotten this weekend too. My antibiotics (clarithromycin) really affected my stomach, got bad heartburn all the time. Maybe you need a change of one too. I had a sore throat too but no one seemed very worried by it. Just me!
Let me know how you get on.

Feel a bit better today. Not great but slowly picking up. My sister arrived last night with a huge amount of stuff from the allotment - which was really nice of her so have plenty of healthy food to eat! Not planning on doing anything again at all today just got someone dropping round this afternoon. Anyway, it is very grey out there and feels a bit cold.

    Hi Sally

Glad to read that you are picking up a bit and that your sister has been round with some healthy food.

It's really windy, rainy and not at all like August today - so take it easy ..

    Hi Sally,
Hope the evening is going a little better for you.
Fingers crossed that AB's will have got things even more under control by tomorrow.
We have just had some of our home grown veggies for tea so we are all vitamined up :D
Now if we have a cold nose and a glossy coat tonight we will be ok!!

I get asthma when I get colds and looks like it's kicked in. I sound like an old steam engine. Grrrr! What a horrible week I've had. Hope you all had a better one than me!

Hi Iris, thanks for asking :) My chest is still bad, can't work out if it's asthma or infection, bit of both I think. Did go out for a hour or so today but not up to much.

I've got to ring the nurse tomorrow to discuss my next injection. She wanted to do it Thurs/Fri but I will still be on antibiotics then so probably the following week. They won't do it though while I am still ill. I've got a routine appt with my gp on Wed so shall get her to have a listen to my lungs!

    how are you?

Sorry not been on since Satruday as have been feeling really rough.

I stopped taking the Naproxen and at least my stomach problems have lessened so I didn't ring the doctors, but the throat is worse not better, so I'm ringing the GP surgery tomorrow because I finish this lot of antibiotics tomorrow morning.

thanks for asking and I am glad to read that you are getting better slowly but surely.

I am sure we'll both get there eventually, but I think maybe we both have another MTX free week ahead

Thanks lynn but I did get an outing today - to the emergency doctor, unfortunately, for a nebuliser but it did break the evening up! Asthma is all over the place. She put me on a high dose of steroids too. Not sure about taking them but might have too. I'll see tomorrow. She said I could start tonight but won't get any sleep if I do.

She also recommended I attend a herbal clinic she is involved with because my 'immune system is low and all over the place and it needs some help' Hello! I've got arthritis, I'm on methotrexate the whole point of which is to suppress my immune system, I can't take supplements, I don't want to boost my immune system. She didn't even know echinacea was contraindicated if you are taking Mtx. She said 'there's a lot of fuss about herbal medicines being harmful .....' She looked completely surprised when I told her I'd been told not to take anything, not even a cough linctus from over the counter. Maybe there's a nice cream or something I could use (as if I haven't googled just about everything) but I don't think that was what she was talking about. I was shocked, frankly, at her ignorance. Just goes to show be careful who you listen too!
