Hi. I'm on methotrexate (metoject) 15mgs. No problem 'till now but my msc levels are creeping up following the last two month's monthly blood tests. They come back as satisfactory, just. My gp is keeping an eye on this . Has anyone else experienced this? Thanks. Jackie

Which levels? I can only find MCV in my meth booklet, is that the one you mean? It refers to the average volume of a red blood cell, and the figures that are OK are between 80-100. MIne has never been higher than 101. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

Whoops typing error yes should have been mcv. Last reading for me was 106. I am having a blood test again tomorrow and fingers crossed it's down.0

Oh I wouldn't fret too much - if the normal range lies within a margin of 20, being up by six is OK - well, it wouldn't worry me too much but I do tend toward the relaxed about such matters. Let us know what your latest figure is - and what the doc has to say! DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

Hi Jackie
Just to say my MCV has tended to be between 85 and 101 over the last couple of years....

Thanks for your comments. About to go off for the monthly blood test and fingers crossed my mcv levels will be lower. Last month the doctor asked when I was due back in clinic and that's not till next feb so maybe she is thinking if it's not down, will refer me back to the hospital or take advice? I will keep you informed but off on holiday week to-day.0
