Afternoon all

Just to say i go for rheummy app tomorrow.

Just a little apprehensive as it is at a different hospital. After 22 years under the same person i wonder what to expect.

Got my folder ready with, blood test results,
medication list and dates of the last 4 chest xrays as they are from january onwards.

is there anything i have forgot.
will let you know how it went tomorrow sometime

What about a sample of wee? I have to take one to every consultant appointment, so enquire about that (if it's not too late). We'll be with you, some in spirit, some in your pockets, please let us know how you get on. DD

Good luck tomorrow. I can understand you're nervous - I was with the rheummy for over 20 years until I changed from private to NHS 8 months ago (no regrets!).

Thanks DD yes I have a bottle in a drawer, will get it out. Good thinking :)

Thanks lois I hope I have no regrets , but my rheummy dr was retiring so it gave me an opportunity to move to a hosp nearer me.

    Hi Julie

Just to wish you all the very best at your appointment. Must feel strange seeing someone else after all those years. If you have thought of any questions, best write them down as sometimes they can be forgotten during the appointment. Do let us know how you go on. :)

    Luv and gentle hugs

    Hi Julie,

It's sometimes good to get a fresh pair of eyes when you've been attending the same consultant for so long.... but I can understand too that you feel a wee bit nervous. :D
but I'm sure you will be fine too

You sound really well organised with your folder and all.... trust our DD to remember how important 'wee' is. (different 'wee' from the meaning it has when we scots say it):lol::lol:

love and ((((hugs)))) for tomorrow...what time we off then?

    Good afternoon everyone :D

Rheummy app went well thankyou all for your support.

Was well equipped with info, and just as well as gp only gave skeleton info.
Gave her dates of chest xrays, plural iffusion, bloods, amputation and recent op on the stump.
She has a lot of follow ups to do as all these things are at different hospitals (too long to explain to you, just say I am complicated and she has her work cut out)
Atleast now though I have had some xrays and bloods in her hospital web and she should be able to access them.

They weighed me and asked Don't suppose you have a wee sample
to which I replied Oh yes as a matter of fact I do. (so thank you DD for reminding me. Hubby had to sit me in the weighing chair after her daft question Are you able to get in on your own
I am staying on all meds for the moment until she has got more answers from my gp and the proff. I am quite happy on them anyway. I had a neck xray done as I have recently had problems there and its been causing headaches.

I think my next app is in 3 months time, It comes through the post. Only thing i florgot is eye test because of hydroxi, but I will make an app at vision ex. Next app is for new leg or this one if it still fits, on tuesday. Oh my I am popular but for all the wrong reasons. Glad Richards work is so understanding.

Oh I bet she felt so embarassed when she asked you if you could access the chair - I think they do sometimes go into auto mode, think how many times a day she asks that! I'm glad the wee paid off! Imagine taking that in for no reason! All in all, julie47pf, it sounds a pretty good appointment - let's hope all the follow-up stuff follows on quite fast: it's not long until Tuesday now! Did you like her? Do you think you will get on OK with her? DD

Glad it all went well, Julie. Hope you are having a good rest now. Hospital appointments always tire me out, even the most mundane ones.......dunno why.

It's always good to feel that you can progress, so good luck with the Tuesday appointment.

    Hi Julie PF :D

Glad you've got that appointment over and that the new rheummy was OK....even if she did, foolishly, expect you to get on the weighing chair on your own.

Lots of appointments yet to come for you PF?.... so keep us posted so's we can be in your pockets again (next time Tuesday), and for all the rest.

rest up tonight as Annie said.... these hoosie appointments are exhausting.!

Oh.... and gold star for DD for suggesting the 'wee' sample. :

    Hi Julie

Glad to hear you had a pretty reasonable appointment..

I always insist on taking my shoes and watch off when I get in that weighing chair - every little bit helps!!!

    Best wishes

Hi Julie, so glad you had a good appointment! Given the lack of info provided by your GP, just shows how important it is to go prepared doesn't it! Hopefully you have found a good consultant, - a rare thing indeed in my experience!

Hi, Glad things went well for you. Going to different hospitals is a bore, we used to have to do it in Oxford as the hospitals are like departments and the orthopeadic hospital dosn't do anything but that. At least they are linked with computers now, which should be better but I bet things go wrong!!! :? Love Sue

Oh trisher, I think you are right about that. I guess they look without seeing. An extra complication/difficulty/insult that you and pf just don't need. Grrrrrrr. DD

Morning all you lovely peope :)

Thank you for all your kind words

Was just a bit disappointed yesterday when district nurse took of the dressing on my stump wound. I expected it to now be a scab or better still healed properly. It is still wet and we are still putting manuka honey on. She was quite pleased but she is a different nurse every time. I told her (when i eventually got stump in air to try to see that its the same as when it was seen by the vasc nurse)

I think my expectations of manuka honey was that it was magic. :(

As you all know I go on tuesday to yet another hosp for prosthetic app . I see a doctor there, will see what she has to say about wound. (i know from experience not a lot)
and see if my leg fits still. will let you all know .

Anyway i should prob be patient and wait till i see vascular again on 22nd. Hope it is better and all my fuss is just temp.

sorry about my moan dont want to dampen your day

    Hope you all feel good.

I missed this somehow - Not like me at all, I do apologise julie. So it's tomorrow that you are off for another apppointment - has the honey done nothing yet? Keep using it, perhaps the effect builds over time. This must be so frustrating for you pf, I am so sorry. Are we coming with you tomorrow? If so, I'll organise people! DD

    Hi Julie PF :D

Sorry to hear that the stump wound is persistently the same......
It's a roller coaster watching and waiting and hopeing for wounds to heal.

Will be with you tomorrow...if not in the forum bus then in one of your pockets.
    p065.gif

hope you will at least have the vascular doc taking a look at your wound and offering more advice or treatments.

    love and more healing ((((hugs))))
