Hi

I just wondered if anyone could give me their experience of shoulder replacement. Both my shoulders are extremely painful at the moment my right one being the worst. At the moment when I try to lift my arm up straight as though to hang a coat up I have approximately 30 degree movement and moving out to the side around 60 degree. I first started having steroid injections in my shoulders about 1996. Had my right shoulder injected twice this year, once just last week but waiting to have a second injection in it as soon as an appointment is available. Then the docs want to start on my left shoulder.

I'm just finding it so difficult to do the simplest of things, even moving my shoulder to eat with cutlery is painful and difficult. So I wondered if anyone could give enlighten me through their personal experience as to how bad a shoulder has to become before you can be considered for a replacement.

I'd be most grateful for any insight.

Thank you

Chicara

Hi, frogmorton has bumped up a shoulder thread for you - something to do with arthroscopy/decompression. I hope it helps in some way. DD
Have you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben
