Should I expect this?

Hi
Since having bad elbow pain over the past few days, I have noticed I have been dropping things... does anyone else experience this? Dont think I have loss of strength or anything - just seem to be more clumsy? :?:

The only thing I can think of is that because your elbows hurt, sub-conciously you are not gripping hard enough for fear of triggering more pain. Elbow supports may help - get a cheap one for an experiment and see. DD

My elbows have never been too bad, but I have been dropping things for months now. Latest was a pan full of chips! That was holding with both hands as well, so hubby is now moving anything heavy while cooking (or at any other time, come to that!)

Again, my hands haven't been too bad for some time, I just don't seem to have any grip.

    Hi Katie,

Think its part of it I'm afraid... I do it as well, just let go of things and a few o us have been doing it as well. I know there has been a few posts on it and think its all to do with swelling and nerves being interfered with as well as just your hands stopping gripping.

If you have a lot of swelling or keep doing it they might want to test you for carpal tunnel, they did me but mine was thankfully negative but I still drop things. In my case I don't even know I am doing it! Nice to meet you. Cris x

Hi there, until recently I didn't have a problem with my elbows but they have been really bad. I have noticed that although I sometimes used to be clumsy before it has been worse since my elbows were hurting so I suppose there must be some connection so I guess it's all part of this annoying, frustrating illness and something we have to find a way of working round as with all the other adjustments we have to make to our lives. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful but at least you know you're not the only one. Hope you find a way round it soon.

    Love Sue x

    Honestly :(

If it isn't one thing it's another isn't it?

    I think I thought I was clumsy!

Good to hear I am not alone
