Hi everyone
Thought I'd share this with you it might make someone smile today. First I need to tell you that I am quite small - 5'2", 6 stone 3 pounds and size 4 - 6 in clothes.
So one afternoon our daughter pops over with our then 5 year old grandson Ben and for ages he is very quiet colouring and drawing while we had a cuppa and a chat. Then Ben brought his drawing to me - "Guess who this is Gran", I don't know sweetheart I tell him. "Well" says Ben, "she's the only person in this house wearing a dress today".
Oh is that me I asked him, to which he replied yes.
"But you've drawn me with very thin arms Ben", I say
"That's because you're skinny Gran", was the matter of fact reply.
Out of the mouths of babes!!
Take care all

It made me smile......
Well.........you can't fault his factual observation......
Maybe needs to brush up on his subtlety though.......
He sounds like a good one.......

It made me smile too, Chicara.
Children are so observant, and tell it like it is sometimes. Recently, as I followed my young grand-daughter up the stairs, I noticed that she was going up one step at a time, with apparently stiff legs. When I asked her what she was doing, she said that she was just pretending to be me!

Hi Rob
I don't know about subtelty I think Ben may take after his Gramps, just be straight and to the point, no messing just tell it how it is. He's a little treasure though.

Hi Joan
Children do have a habit of coming out with little comments that make you smile don't they? I often say with Ben around who needs TV, he's entertainment enough.

Hi Val
I love the innocence and honesty of children and you have to smile when they start repeating your 'little sayings' back to you. When my daughter was about 18 months, we were in the garden and our next door neighbour was hanging out washing when she dropped a peg. All of a sudden this little voice pipes up, "Oh s**t" at the exact time time as my neighbour said it. My poor neighbour was horrified. She hadn't realised about her language and was mortified that my daughter had picked it up from her. Needless to say she was far more careful what she said when little ears were listening in the future.
Take care

My 6 year old daughter had to draw her family for school so mum and dad, her 2 brothers and her 2 half-sisters and the ironing lady!!!!! I was so embarressed.
Ironing lady has gone now due to playing on her phone all day and popping onto facebook on my laptop.......she didnt deserve to have such an honoured position in my family picture.

Her mum wont talk to me anymore. As if it was my fault! I only got rid of her when she failed to call in sick 4 times. I even rang her one day and said if you are not coming in please let me know. She had the chance to say she was too unwell there and then,

Oppps shame she does not talk to you. It is what our children see in their minds.
My son when he was small had to draw a picture at school of a room in their house.
He bought the drawing home. He had drawn th kitchen.Well he hhad this pile in the corner. I asked what it was, O it is all the washing up you had not done.
I was so embarrassed. This was on a Sunday and I had done a roast. I was not feeling too well that day and instead of doing it straight away I stacked it and said I would do it after I had laid down.
Well the washing up in the picture went up to the ceiling, it looked awful.
When I took him to school the next day I found myself apologising to the teacher and saying I do wash up honest.
The day after I fet so awkward I made his dad take him to school.
