I haven't got an iPad so I can't help much, but here goes with bits found online.

In Settings > General > Sounds, turn 'Sent Mail' to ON, then you should get a sound when it sends your email.

To set up the email settings:

First you must connect your iPad to a WiFi network for sending receiving emails, then have a look at the email setting up info at http://www.gilsmethod.com/how-to-setup-email-accounts-on-the-ipad

Another way to check an email has gone, is to send a copy to yourself. Select Mail, Contacts, Calendars from the list on the left side of the Settings window, and then set the 'Always BCC Myself' switch to ON. When a copy arrives in your inbox, then you know it has been sent.

Sorry I can't help any further.

    Hi

Well figured some of it out. I sent an email to my DIL and it was so good just touching the screen I really enjoyed it.

I don't think I can use it on here but have not been well enough to do it DIl got the email. I can stay in touch with you by emailing you if I gio in hospital and I can plug it in their socket to charge it up.

You can download games, books. muisic. It it as good as HD television good clear screen.

There is so much you can do on it. It is easy to turn on and off. If you want to read you just download it, when you want to turn the page you touch the screen.

There is so muxh on it I have not had the time to explore. You do have a note pad to jot down notes.

I would say for people who email a lot like I do it is heaven when I type.
Julie I hae all the FarmVille emails on there. I don't think I can se it on here but not being well I have not tried.

I will keep you informed it you want me to but don't want to sound big headed.

It is very light to hold as a nice case to feep it in.

    Love Trish xxxxx

There are two things you need to consider when buying the ipad from the US.

1st the price you see on the US Apple website does not include state tax which I think is about 4% to 6%. As far as I can found out, there is no easy way to reclaim the state tax as a visitor when you leave the country.

2nd, you will need to declare the ipad when you come through UK Custom and pay import and VAT on it.

So overall, the saving will not be as much as the difference between the two prices listed on UK and US Apple store.

VAT is currently 20%. Is it worth it?
