    HI Ange

Well yes im sure everyone on here is sick of hearing me harping on when they are maybe worse off but i do believe that there are treatments out there and when i hear how other people of a similar age seem to get their wish albeit with terms it irritates me.....I like equality in life but i dont suppose it happens too often.....I mean i got told by relative that if i said i couldnt sleep cos of the pain that would earn me more points with consultant but I dont lie, its not in my nature and I do sleep okay, mostly cos i take co-prox most nights.....Its when i get up im like Skippy!!!
I have looked at Interhealth webpages and cannot see anywhere how it would relate to joint replacements...Seems to be aimed at travelling people seeking medical treatment...Have i got the wrong pages?
May I ask what age you were when you got your TKR done and did you find it an uphill struggle like me? If you dont want to say on forum, PM me?

    Thanks

I`m sure no one believes that you are harping on Elaine. As I said, you have to ensure the best possible future for yourself, and if you don`t fight your corner, no one else will.

I think you have been looking at the wrong website. You need [non-working link removed - Moderator DD] or simply google Interhealth Canada. As it`s a facility purely for joint re-placements, and all other joint related problems, people of all ages are treated. I was much older than you - 64 - when I had mine. As I said in my previous post, I chose the hospital - together with my GP - then booked an appointment on the telephone, for one week hence. This was referred to as a One Stop Shop appointment, where all tests, bloods, X rays etc., were done. I then had a long discussion with the Surgeon, and once we were both happy to go ahead, I was given my date for four weeks hence. I had the Pre-op stuff, of course, one week prior to the surgery.

I hope this is clearer for you now.......Ange.
