What does love mean? ( seen through the eyes of children )
1. "When my grandmother got arthritis, she couldn't bend over and paint
her toenails anymore. So my grandfather does it for her all the time,
even when his hands got arthritis too. That's love." Rebecca - age 8
2. When someone loves you, the way they say your name is different. You
just know that your name is safe in their mouth." Billy - age 4
3. "Love is when a girl puts on perfume and a boy puts on shaving cologne
and they go out and smell each other." Karl - age 5
4. "Love is when you kiss all the time. Then when you get tired of
kissing, you still want to be together and you talk more.'' Emily-age 8
5. "Love is what's in the room with you at Christmas if you stop opening
presents and listen," Bobby - age 7
6. "If you want to learn to love better, you should start with a friend
who you hate," Nikka - age 6 (we need a few million more Nikka's on
this planet)
7. "Love is when you tell a boy you like his shirt, then he wears
it everyday." Noelle - age 7
8. "I know my older sister loves me because she gives me all her old
clothes and has to go out and buy new ones." Lauren - age 4
9. "When you love somebody, your eyelashes go up and down and little stars
come out of you." (what an image) Karen - age 7
10. "You really shouldn't say 'I love you' unless you mean it. But if you mean it you should say it a lot; People forget.''-Jessica-age 8

Spot on, all of them. I never use the word love except to those I do. If I ever end a post with 'Love you' you will know I mean it! It is one of the most important, and one of the most abused, words we have. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

Ah well, love you anyway, DD :!:0

I'm quite fond of you joanlawson!Have you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

I loved these What a lovely end to a hectic day! Does anyone have anymore to add? I have a few:
- Love is when your husband, instead of buying flowers and chocolate and remembering anniversaries and birthdays, remembers what your favourite magazines and newspapers are and buys them for you all the time
- Love is blind - my husband turns a blind eye to my shoe collection
- Love is letting someone else eat the food you prepared even though you're hungry because they asked you for it
- Love is spontaneous hugs and kisses because you felt like it
- Love is not only accepting your partner's/ kids's/ friend's weak points, but loving them all the more for them

Ooooh, Len! I know what I wanted to tell you - that beer commercial you posted a link on the other week? Well, it came on TV last night and guess what Jassie said?
"She doesn't have many shoes, Mama!"
Great minds, eh??

Love is meeting Nina and her lovely girls again. The girls presented me with paintings which they had done specially for me, and I got hugs from them all, including Nina.

Sometimes love is greatly over-rated. Sometimes it just isn't enough. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

Ahhhhhh, Joan, we all love you and your hubby too, including my husband I'm sorry my painting wasn't quite up to the standard of my girls' - will try to do better next time!
And Rehab, she is EXACTLY like her mother - just ask Joan! In fact, she's very grumpy at the moment with me because her older sisters got new school shoes and she didn't get them because her old ones are just fine!
DD - you sound very sad??
