basically he wants me to use them only when I am in a lot of pain ...thats two a day max ..and to try and keep them for when I have a night out or have to be somwehere and otehr wise would be in paina nd it would spoil my social life etc

and says they are fine with normal paracetamol if I am having avery bad day

    Hi BB,

Don't worry till you have to where tablets are concerned! They ave to list all reported side effects and the chances are you will be fine.

On a bad day I take 8 tramadol and they do really help but cus I only takes them as I need them it does mean I still have a kinda hang over feeling after taking the 8.

Good luck and hope you don't need to take them too often. Cris x

    thanks xx

my pain comes and goes , dodc thinks the 50mg tablets are better as I can choose when to have one , rather than be on the slow release one all day

because I am very lucky as some days I get no pain at all

    Hi BB,

I personally think self regulating is a good idea. You will know when you need them and if you don't need them its better not to take them.

I used to have one or two here and there but as I get worse I am leaning on them a bit more. They are a good drug if they suit you so let us know how you get on. I really hope they hep and for me I get no effect at all from paracetamol but again if they suit they are good as well.

You take care and see how you go. Cris x

Mine are 50mgs too, and are only used when in real need. Paracetamol don 't touch the day-to-day stuff, but co-codamol do: as I have just humira'd I am on just two per day of those - but it's nice to know the trammy is there if needed! DD
Have you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben

Hi I was on tramadol after my THR but at the 6 weeks post op stage was taken of them....I wish he had left them and let me take them as needed....As it is I'm on paracetamol and 1 slow release diclofenic at night to stop me waking up with pain.....I would be back to try and get it changed but am due for 2nd THR in 4 weeks so I'll survive until then.
Hopefully after this op they will let me use them as needed

    Love
