Hope appointment goes well. Make a list of daily living things you struggle with/need help with/can't do and she will hopefully suggest gadgets and adaptions to help.

She may well want to observe you doing things to see how you cope/don't.

Not sure about the trainers - would think that was more of an orthotist/podiatrist "thing."

I have had OA since mid twenties. It affects my hips and knees. I had a THR on the left aged 30 and now have a resurface-replacement on the right - done May 2010.

I think speedy is right only49. She will look at domestic arrangements regarding where you might need a grab rail, or an extra seat, she will check your bathroom and see if a bathboard might be handy, she might ask you to make a cup of tea or do some task in the kitchen - you tell her anything you can think of and she might be able to help or tell you who can. OT lady been a gone and what a difference from the last person i saw a long while ago, she left me with a perch stool and coming back with a better bath lift tomorrow, and fitting a rail, in the bathroom, and we see if it would be possible to maybe raise my chair, wow i am totally amazed i cant believe how quick she doing this, well its only what i expect people to do, after all we are the ones that need help and they are the lucky ones, they can do lots we cant do.

that has restored my faith in them, would rather someone be straight with me as i getting older i cant be doing with people who muck about and dont give me a straight answer, i leave that to other members of my family mum, sister, and in-laws.

Sounds like the appointment went well. Hope the new equipment makes a big difference - how fab they have it in stock. You'll wish you had had an OT referral years ago ...

hi speedy yes this one was a good one miles better than the one i saw the last time, i even think she knew what i was going through as she had suffered from gout and said that there was not words to describe the pain she suffered.

Thats really good news Only, Do you have a date for the stair lift?
So you have got the hang of the bath lift etc. Must give you a feeling of independance.
