Hi,
I'm having one of those mornings - big list of people to ring and things to sort out ... Keep getting to stalemate - leave a message/we'll get back to you/will get someone else to call you back etc

Also waiting for windscreen man to come and repair a chip (should have been in Aug- but someone cancelled the job by mistake!)

Meanwhile phone keeps ringing and it is something else all together ...

I'm glad I don't work in an office, if it is anything like this. Nothing getting fully ticked off my list, just a half tick to say I tried to sort it/work in progress ...

Yours frustrated,

Speedy
I have had OA since mid twenties. It affects my hips and knees. I had a THR on the left aged 30 and now have a resurface-replacement on the right - done May 2010.

Pretend you are in an office. Drink tea and file your nails - that will guarantee interruptions! DD

    Hi Speedy

Know exactly how you feel had one of those days on Monday. Rang hozzy to rearrange an appointment, 'oh can you ring again tomorrow the girl that deals with those particular appointments is off today'

Rang someone else, sounded as though it had picked up but then just silence, tried a few times, sat there 10 minutes on one occassion, just silence!!

I think our docs is one of the best though. You ring main number, press this for appts, press that for scripts etc, you go all through the menu and often a couple more menus besides, phone rings then this polite voice tells you that your call cannot be completed at this time please ring again later! The doc and out of hours doc service is good too. Once tried ringing out of hours docs at 6.30 pm - told me not open ring GP, ran GP - we are now closed please ring out of hours.

It would be so nice to ring a number have a nice polite person answer it straight away and actually be able to help with your enquiry. Technology has a lot to answer for, but then it has its advantages too, without it we wouldn't have the forum.

Wishing everyone as pain free a day as possible.

Chicara - sounds like you know what I mean ... did you get hozzy thing sorted?!

Windscreen man has tfinally urned up and is mending chips. I'm about to have a coffee and then have decided wont wait in for others to call/not call back - will carry on as usual and see what happens ... and on and on it goes.

Oh Barbara - how incompetent and annoying - did they squeeze you in? I hope so, what a waste of time otherwise.

Well decided to make coffee (On DD's advice) and windscreen man came ..

Rang docs for appointment (to discuss phased return!!) and got an appointment for this Monday - unheard of!!

Now where is my nail file ...

Hey Speedy ... when you've finished with the nail file may I borrow it please?

I have been waiting for a phone call from the hospital since Friday .... plays havoc with any planning for the day  was promised a call on Firday or Monday .... still not had one, so will wait for my appointment on Friday and then let them know I am not amused!

Right .... I'm off to wash my hair in a bit - another activity guaranteed to make the phone ring and the doorbell go

    hugs

    Hi Wonky,

if washing your hair doesn't get the phone ringing I'll send you a cyber nail file ....

Technology is meant to make communication easier/quicker and faster ... I think I'm going to get an owl like in Harry Potter - that delivers messages and trained to create havoc if he has to wait too long for a reply.

Hi Speedy - I did get the appt sorted - three days later - thanks.

Cham I don't envy you having to do your appt online - never had much luck with that system myself - it's amazing how many times you go on the appropriate web site only to find out they are updating the service so it's not available or they don't recognise your details!! Oh what fun - hope you have more success than me and they get meds sorted.

The one thing guaranteed to make our phone ring or doorbell go is me having a migraine. We have a phone in almost every room (except the bathroom) so no matter where I am in the house I can get to a phone before folks hang up - so 5 phones and because hubby is deaf they are connected to flashing lights, as is the doorbell. Well normally if I am in bed with bad migraine hubby unplugs them. Last migraine however was expecting call from GP so left them on. So GP rang, fella about windows rang, someone doing a survey rang, pharmacy rang about script, and front doorbell must have rung 4 or 5 times.

Next day I'm feeling much better - doorbell didn't go once and not a single phone call.

    C'est la vie :D

    Take care all

    Chicara
