Hi, sounds as if relaxation would be good! Sometimes, I think we know too much. I do it, is this mole darker than it used to be? Is that a breast lump or not? I could go on...... but I won't!!! I remember, in hospital once worring because the nurse said I was taci-cardic and pyrexic. When he came in, I told my husband, who was a research biochemist before Zenica cut back, and he said, so you have a temprature and that makes your pulse faster!  I thought I'd had it!

Deep breaths and relax!! Love Sue

    Hi Deborahjane,

I am glad they checked you out and it does sound like you do need to relax a bit more flower. My Nan always said worrying was like sitting in a rocking chair, it gives you something to do but you don't get anywhere. I think she is right......

    However how do you stop.

Can you do visualization? See in my brain I visualize it as open compartments and there is a giant great switch.... When I get really wound up I visualize pulling the switch up..... it cuts off the worry and I calm down again. I don't know if you can do visualisation but it might help if you can devise your own way of over ridding the thoughts that are worrying you.

I know it sounds a bit odd but I use visualization so much and its a good way to help counter whats going on in your head.

I also wonder have you tried meditation? That's another good way to rest up and can really help to calm you down.

I don't know if you have said whats really worrying you? I can't read all the post cus of my eyes but sometimes writing it down really does help. Telling us here might help but you have to remember its a pubic forum so don't if you feel uncomfortable.

I'm sorry I gone on some here but I do hope you find a way of just calming down a bit, stepping back and I really hope you can stop the hyperventilating. You know about the breathing into a bag I hope?

I shall shut up now but leaving you a ((( ))) and a bucket of hopes. Cris x

it hard with so much going on to calm down and not worry we all go through this in some form and another so glad it nothing to bad but shame you have to cut meds back a bit are they helping you??. when the worry gets to much you can come and share with us i always find a trouble shared is a trouble halved and sometimes explaining things to someone else does make you see them in perspective good luck val

The more you think about stuff the more things go round in your head and the more you think. You need to be able to switch off and that is a skill that can be taught. I was sent to relaxation classes years ago by my GP - no cost, service provided thro the NHS, so I think it is worth your while finding out if they are offered in your area. You have had a week off work which you have spoiled really thro worry - what benefit have you had from the break? I presume you go back on Monday - that gives you four days left: try to plan a little treat for each day, something to take you out of yourself and have a little bit of fun. Navel-gazing can be a useful skill if it is a positive thing: you are tying yourself up in knots which is not useful! DD

I just saw your other thread - 10 cups of coffee a day? No wonder you were getting heart flutters! Caffeine is a stimulant, and one of the most addictive drugs on the planet. Strewth. Cutting down is an excellent idea and certainly don't drink any before gong to bed. DD

    Hi deborahjane

You are stilll wise to get things checked out though.

D D is right I was on 14 cups of coffe a day and 10 ****. Weighed 6st11lb and had heart worries too. Lost both parents to heart problems.

I cut mine down (over time) to 2 cups coffee and some tea.

I hope you will be able to relax - havent A/C got a cd???
