Hi
Politics apart, what a rollercoaster time it has been for David Cameron! He has experienced the depths of despair with the death of his son, Ivan, followed by happiness at his election success, and the birth of his baby daughter. Now, just at a time when he is celebrating the birth, his father has died suddenly while on holiday.
To lose his son and his father so close together is very sad, and I feel sympathy for him. My mother died of a stroke, in the same way as David Cameron's father, so I know the shock and sadness he will be feeling.

I agree Joan, some people go through stages like this in their life,
I haven't really had much time for him,
But having said that, I was really happy for him & his wife with the birth of their little girl, how sad to hear about his father & his son

PS so sorry to hear your mother died like this Joan xx0 -
It is very sad, I saw it on the news earlier. Even worse when the whole world is watching your every move and you cannot just do your own thing and deal with things as you need to.
Such happiness with the new baby and then such a loss, life certainly throws things at us, sometimes all at once. My condolences to him and his family.XX Aidan (still known as Bubbles).0 -
Thank you, Sue. I think that whatever your opinion of David Cameron as a politician, you can feel sympathy for him as a human being. Coming to terms with the death of a child must be one of the hardest things for anyone, and being in the public eye must make it very difficult.
Bubbles, you are right; life can throw so much at us sometimes, and often things come all at once. I think you have to make the most of the happy times.0 -
It must be very difficult for him to cope with loosing his father and his son then the birth of his daughter.
Even at the funeral he will not be out the public eye fully.

Thats true, I think this is where people/ the public should give them space, but we know it wont happen.
my thoughts are with all the family

I have no time for Cameron, however I can not think of anything worse than loosing a child and a father. My heart does go out to him and his family.
Nine years ago my friend got hit by a bus and was killed, she left her husband and 3 little children, a week later my grandad died from the shock of telling him that his daughter inlaw was dying of cancer. Three days after his funeral my Aunty died, she was only 44.
Jules((((hugs)))) n xxxxx to ya all0 -
It's probably just as well we never know what will happen and when and to whom. I don't 'do' families and children that well but even I felt sad that DC's father had not met Florence. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

It is sad very sad.
Por all of them - especially his mum
Poor little florence too0 -
I was only just thinking about the highs and lows of Mr Cameron. I like the man and he should be given all the support possible over the next few weeks. He is made of stern stuff I'm sure, he's got to be. Just hope Nick can keep the coalition strong in his absence.

Hi rehab,
I am really sorry, but we haven't deleted your post. Is it the 15.23 post today you mean, because according to that you deleted it yourself. If you didn't, or it is a different post, we are completely baffled!!! Can you repost whatever it was, and we will get on to the techie people to say there is a problem.
Sorry again,
Jean0
