nothing I can do, but also had an apppointment for my cardiac test Tuesday went all the way there and found the camera/scanner has broken down so they cancelled that one when I got there and also cancelled todays stress test now got to go next Tuesday for the cancelled Tuesday one a resting heart scan and book up for my stress test scan on my heart, that is going to be way high with the Hospitals cancellations etc am angry and fed up now as my wrist was really playing me up the past few days ,I'm sure some of you know how i feel with all this coming and going  :x

Awwww!! It must be so awful to have your TWR cancelled....I'm due to have THR on the 8th Oct and know what I would feel like if they cancelled that.....after you have got mentally ready for it etc. As for all the other cancellations.....that is absolutely ridiculous
I'm suresomeone will come along with suggestions about who to get in touch with

May I scream on your behalf? Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh!
That feels better. I am so sorry lavenderlady, this is the last thing you needed, tho perhaps it is better that you don't have the stress test today! Let's hope it all goes smoothly when it does all happen. DD

What a nightmare ... I don't understand why they couldn't have contacted you and saved your journey.

Well let's hope the postponed tests happen next time round and that missing piece they need for the TWR arrives soon. At least they let you know about that in advance. Will be good to know an actual date for the rescheduled op though - so that you can plan accordingly.

NOTHING is simple in life at the moment ... a friend of mine blames it on the cosmos.

I have had OA since mid twenties. It affects my hips and knees. I had a THR on the left aged 30 and now have a resurface-replacement on the right - done May 2010.

    Hi Lavender lady
Sorry to and hear about your op being cancelled. I know how frustrating and upsetting that can be; my hysterectomy was cancelled on the day of the op, and I ended up having it on the anniversary of my THR! I am hoping for a better day next 23rd FEb!
Hope things go to plan for you from now.

    Hi lavenderlady,

so so sorry to hear about the cancelled op and the fiasco of the scan and stress tests. :(

I hope they will re schedule soon so that you don't have to wait too much longer... especially with the pain you're having.

It might be worth phoning your surgeon's secretary?... they can either contact the person who organises your surgeon's op list or give you their number to phone so that you can find out when it's being re-arranged.

The prosthesis is tailor made to your own hand/ wrist measurements so I hope they now have all the 'bits' ordered up!

let us know please when you hear anything.

    Hi Lavenderlady

At least I hope your other appointment can get sorted for you.
Let us know how you get on.

many thanks all of you , I've been a moody mare this past few dasy think its not having everything planned and sorted in my head I was like this when they cancelled my hysterectomy last October but ended up another surgeon took me on a few days later then my original date he did a wonderful job :D , but i know my surgeon this time is the only one able to do this op down this part of the country and he is suppose to be brilliant , just hope they phone this week with good news, have the rest test this coming tuesday BUT am ringing first to double check before i catch the cat across the solent that might sound to you land lubbers  what I mean is the catamaran lol they will then give me the date for the stress test as if I have'nt had enough this week :x , hubbys a driving instructor so just hope he has no tests the new op date, he had arranged it so he didn't for the original date,
has anyone had an op that has not been cancelled at least once ???? again thanks everyone will let you know the new date as soon as i know,

Hi Lavenderlady, very wise to check the appointment is going ahead before setting sail!!

I thought a bit of the replacement wrist was missing DURR, didn't realise it was theatre equipment.

Hope you get the date soon.

How annoying, happened to me once - usually happens at the end of the financial year when they haven't got any money left!
At least you know your surgeon is good so worth waiting for.

    Hi Michelle,

hope the appointment does go ahead next week.... wise indeed to phone first to make sure

I thought too that they cancelled the op as they were 'missing' part of the replacement  .

I haven't yet had an op cancelled but my daughter did recently... no explanation given. very frustrating and upsetting too. :? :(

let us know how you get on with your next appointment. fingers are still crossed for you.
