I'm really fed up with this now, I have a lot of pain in my ribs on the front & back on the right side, I have had it now for about four days
they are really tender to touch,I can only take paracetamol, not allowed to take any anti inflammatory because of my kidney, i am putting off going to my doctors because I have a rheumy appointment on the 17th Sept
the pain does not seem to getting any easier it does not hurt when I breath but there constantly,
I haven't felt it this bad since I had a rib out on the left side 16years ago
sorry to moan

Sue, with that sort of pain, the 17th is too long to wait. Please make an appointment, and get it checked out. Worrying about it, and questioning what it might be, will only make it worse. I suspect you don`t really need me to tell you this do you? Go on, pick up the phone.......Much love......Ange.

Hi Ange it seems to be the muscles I think I cant rest against it
or touch it, I thought a few days ago I must have pulled a muscle but now it seems to have spread to the whole rib back & front,Hubby says my shoulder blade is swollen, so I don't know, just popping some more para :(
    Thanks Ange xx

    Hi Sue,

sorry to hear you're having such pain. :(

I agree with the others.... waiting until 17th to be seen is too long  and this needs checking out.

please go see the doc ... it may not be a pulled muscle at all... it could be arther or something completely unrelated; but whatever it is you can't just guess at a diagnosis. :?

    hope you feel better soon,

    iris xx

i had similar when first got R.A. It went on and on and was worse at night. It felt like something standing on my chest.
I was told it was part of the R.A but do get it checked out in case,

    Take care,

this could be a spin off from the infection, your GP may have to give you stronger ABs,

i agree with barbara, this could have something to do with th infection you had last week, your dr shouldnt get fed up with you. if he does just remind him " without patients he wouldnt have a job".

Definitely get an emergency appointment at the docs. You can't carry on like that until a week Friday.

It won't be a waste of time. You are a poorly girl, above and beyond your usual level of poorliness. I know what you mean about the sweating - for me the culprit is prednisalone. It used to be the menopause but these sweats are different. Yours, a soggy DD

    Hi everyone,
well I went to the doctors saw my GP & told her I didn't want to bother her, she checked me over & thinks I have the start of shingles,
she gave me some anti-inflammatory gel, told me to carry on with paracetamol & if any spots develop to ring shrop doc over the weekend
even if a couple of spots appear,
Lets just hope it settles down.
more importantly HOW ARE ALL YOU KEEPING :) not in to much pain I hope Sue xx

Shingles? Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeek! That is the last thing you need. Oh queenfan, what ARE we gong to do with you? (Imagine a tone of friendly exasperation for that one). I hope that whatever she has given you helps and that you feel better soon. This rash of ill-health must be something to do with autumn - can we cut autumn out of the year altogether? DD
