Hi,
Dont want to waffle on too much, but have just posted an intro on say hello forum. I am being treated for poly-arthrits or PA they havent quite decided which it is yet as early days. Trouble is I am not convinced that I have either? My trouble started last xmas. I had very painful feet, went to the docs who told me it was fallen arches and would get worse if anything, just get insoles. I went to a podiatrist who confirmed yes very flat feet gave me the insoles which did help for a while but then just as painful. My ankles were a little swollen, but I just put it down to my feet adjusting to their new position with the insoles. In the mean time my right elbow decided to start hurting but this felt like tennis elbow and I cannot strighten it fully. Thing got really bad when we moved house and I was on my feet loads for about a week. After we moved in I could barley walk and my ankles were hot and very swollen. At this point I never went back to the docs - (she told me flat feet would get worse), so booked into a physio to see if I could do any exercise to help me. the physio examined me and sent me back to docs with a letter Having trouble posting anymore?? no space left?????

Wobbly posting: click on the tools button, on the drop down menu select compatability view settings and then click on add when the arthritis care thingy pops up on the other side of the screen. Technical I am not - livinglegend I can feel you pulling your hair out at my clumsy explanantion! - but it works margalot.
Hello. I have PA and yes hun, it hurts. Currently my feet, ankles, knees and sacro-iliac joints are twanging away. I have PA without the P bit for most of the time - I have only had two skin erruptions to date, tho my scalp was a war zone, possibly with psoriasis, back in 97 when all this began. I went undiagnosed for nine years and first put on to sulphasalazine in 2002.: one does get powerful meds quickly in order to stall/slow down the progression of the disease, well, that's the theory anyway. Um, I can't remember what else you said - oh yes: it IS a shock and it DOES take time to understand. You are in the right place for help and advice tho, we live with it all, in its various forms, every day and we know our stuff. Sometimes I reckon we are better than the doctors! I hope you are having a reasonable day, despite everything. DD
PS I forgot to add that I have the flattest feet on the planet and as for your question is it definitely this? Only time will tell - and a helluva lot of blood tests.Have you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0 -
Hi Margalot, I have OA, so am not knowledgeable about your provisional diagnosis.
I just want to say welcome to the forum, I hope you get a proper diagnosis soon and can start on treatment. Keep posting.
SpeedyI have had OA since mid twenties. It affects my hips and knees. I had a THR on the left aged 30 and now have a resurface-replacement on the right - done May 2010.0 -
Hi Margalot and welcome to the forum
there are a lot of peeps here who have PA... me included and we will be around to listen and support you while you go through the process of getting a diagnosis.... as DD said it can take a while so you need to be patient while the rheummy's do their job.
My PA started in my elbow and I thought it was tennis elbow too and ignored it until it reached the stage where it would no longer straighten... It took a year from being referred to rheummy to getting a diagnosis.
I hope you can post the rest of your text soon!
