Hi Laurence, hope you're having a good day. I've had depo injections of 120mg and 160mg, apparently 160 is quite a high dose, or so the nurse said. When they work you usually get at least 6 weeks of relief sometimes up to 8 or 9 weeks if you're lucky. Sometimes they don't work though for some reason, I don't know why. My last one 2 weeks ago hasn't worked but just found out I have a water infection so don't know if it's cos I'm fighting 2 lots of inflammation, I will ask the doc next week when I go to get my water checked. If that could be the reason yhen I will post it as a new subject. Hope this is of some help.

    Love Sue x

    Hi Lawrence

I think the dosage depends on the patient's weight..

I have had 2 of these injections in the past but they didn't work at all (no - I didn't lie about how much I weighed!!!)

Glad you are feeling the benefit..

    Hi Laurence,

When they work they work really well. I haven't ever had one in my bum but do have them in y neck and the first lot worked for about 6 months :D I know its a slightly different way of administration but really hope you find it carries on working for you. Hope your feeling ok as well as feeling less pain and stiffness? Cris x

    Hi Laurence
Had injections straight into joints and a couple into my backside( not dignified) 160 every time. The general jabs lasted 4-6 weeks the first time and a very disappointing 3 weeks the second.
Have RA and hope your relief continues for a while yet.

hi Laurence, I have them regularly about every three months. Apparently they won't give you more than 4 in a year. I have 160 and I am quite slim so don't know if the weight thing applies always. I had one about 5 weeks ago and it is just beginning to wear off. They are great, aren't they? My nurses say they regularly give them to patients before they go on holiday which is when I had mine. Wouldn't have been able to go otherwise.

Three days was my best result from a depo. Three months is the optimum length of time if they work for one, or so I believe. DD
Have you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben
