Hi All

Im sleeping on a camp bed at mo as we have houseful....So last night is was 01.15 before got to bed and had noticed Daddylonglegs before retiring....Got told oh it will go to sleep when you put the lights out, it wont bother you...

Well was lying there after about half hour, and something whizzes past my face...JUmped out of camp bed, could I get the blasted thing ...No!!!! This scenario carried on until 5am when i finally got the ****ard and by that time I was demented and had gone to sleep with slipper in hand ready to thump it.....

Im so tired today and as still have houseful itll be a late one again.....If its siblings turn up tonight I will set their legs alight Im telling you!!!

GRR!!

    Hi Elaine,

this would have been a good post to put on the chitchat forum.

I hate daddylonglegs too, the way they brush past your face when you are in bed at night and then their legs fall off if you try and move them uggghhh.

Aw, never rains but when it pours :?

We seem to have the spider clan moving in with us
One out two in at the moment. The cat is of no use, keep telling her it's her job but without results.

Hope it's not a very late night tonight for you.

    Hi Elaine,

Yuck not a good way to spend a night... for 2 reasons! How long before you get your bed back?

We get 100's of daddy longlegs..... lots of grass outside.....its a field... but funnily enough I don't seem to mind then. They do come in sometimes and I just put them back out but spiders (oh Ironic they are moving in here as well) I am not so good with if they are over a certain size :lol:

I really hope you got a good nights sleep? Cris x

give your house spiders a name... then you won't fear them :!:

I have spiders George and Mildred living quite happily in my sitting room.... and mighty Arnold (swattzenegger) lives somewhere in the bathroom.

I'm happy to co-exist with my spiders as they destroy the things I hate... flys, midges, bluebottles yughhhh!!!!

Daddy long legs...also called Danny or Jenny long legs... I catch & let out the window.... I agree they make noisy bedroom mates.

Furry moths  now they are seriously scary.

Well dogs are good at catching these things arent they? The fact that this one slept apparantly while your dog was watching it suggests the things have maybe half a brain cell.......

I was soooo tired at the point when I killed that bugger......Spiders I can catch but not these, cant put them in my hands YUK!!

    HI Iris

Well the most affectionate i get about insects is spiders that live in my car wingmirrors, i mean thats clever but these dancing things, forget it!!!If they do their business and i do mine thats cool but interfere and im hacked off!!!

Moths are like bats when your asleep but luckily they tend to sleep when you put lights out not like this evil thing!

    Hi Elaine,
Well if you ever do get a pet avoid getting a tortoise shell cat. They are as much use as a chocolate teapot! This is my third and between them over the years they have caught several wet leaves and a piece of fur from a road kill. Yuk!!!
We had a very early start and finish for Daddy long legs so I’m hoping that next year we don’t get a glut of them. Pointless creatures that they are. I think Cris has cornered the market in them. Extra protein for the birds I suppose.
Iris, I also have a name for spiders, “Soon”. Soon you will be out of here. They always come in pairs and like to bring in their friends and relations. Perhaps they eat daddies and that is why some of them are sooooo B IG.

    Hi I

Well im allergic to moggies so no chance of that...Only pet i ever was allowed growing up was a tortoise called Speedy.....And that bugger wandered everywhere and on holiday once it got lost for 3 days and i eventually found it at other end of caravan park, a little girl had gotten attached to it and cried when we took Speedy back...

At least spiders create lovely webs n what but these things are just big silly legs waiting to be dropped off!!
