I dont know what it is with them, but they keep suggesting going away for a weekend to them but my brother runs about like a blue arsed flea all the time and he and his OH do nothing but shop in shooping centres so i cant do that and would be like a slow lapdog..

I get that my folks are older and want to do more, be more helpful but i do try, i just cant cut down trees, etc, wallpaper...No good at it...

I dont know if i do too much, people seem quick to comment if i dont do enough....Sometimes you cannot win whatever you do...
I do play down my condition as i know and see worse off people than me, and dont want to be a Ms Meldrew...

I think sometimes people depending on who they are can portray their illnesses/ailments in a more dramatic way than others...I used to be friends with someone who whenever she was ill and got a diagnosis it had to be so unique and unheard of and she always was so run down, not just under waether.

I suppose i havent got a thick skin and should have with some people but youre right re menopausal, i mean pregant women get so much attention too and i see it as a life choice not an illness....

This place is great and all who contribute to it...

Well think dad gets it in a way but he feels something should have been done by now, he had good rapid treatment for his TKR mine is getting a bit drawn out....

I wouldnt like to get aids in house just for me, i mean thats not fair really and me taking over a bit.....I dont know...

The advice and everyone who im getting to know on here is priceless and i really appreciate it all....

I think thats the worst thing when you feel isolated and unable to tell someone how you are, its like coming on here is an outlet and having a big shout or scream..

My brother/sisters live away too in scotland and they seem to think if i visit them i can trail to shops and do stuff i used to be able to do a few years ago but i cant and they dont seem to get that bit and say a change of scenery would do me good, i disagree and feel would make me even more useless..

Its fab on here, best things done since got me nintendo ds!!!

Well yeah i suppose if someone else had an illness for as long as ive had it and didnt seem to be better i suppose i would get immune to it to a certain extent if i lived with them....

I mean im not perfect and maybe im not as caring as would like others to be, it just gets to me sometimes.....Like you said about hair colour its weird to begin with but them peeps adjust..

Oh how silly i mean go to the gym? Hello ive got a really chronic joint problem, go to gym....disaster!!Thats people who have no idea i mean even when i go to hydro now my knee locks in water at 32 degrees so a pressbench aint gonna do me no good!!
Until these twits get long term pain they are completely clueless....

Yes families can be very unsympathetic Unless you have had this pain you cannot appreiate how bad it is .It's also a 24/7 thing.Until a few weeks ago I could see no light at all Now I'm down for a new hip soon I feel a bit better.My wife doesn't agree with medication never taken anything so she can't see why I need to.Keep your pecker up Elaine and until then remember the immortal words of the Sun" UP YOUR'S dELORS :P :P :P

Well my dad has as he's got a new knee and hip, the bionic man we call him!!! I dont think people who havent had any big illness or condition can relate, i mean if you dont need to take tablets then thats great but does she ever moan about headaches and such n do nothing???
