Hair loss with oa?

Hi, I've had a lot of neck and hand pain the last couple of weeks and today I managed to wash my hair in the shower but found several fairly large bits can out with no pain, I don't know if it broke or came from the roots. When I brushed my hair, more than usual came out. I have very thick hair, so it dosn't show. I have OA and take tramadol and amatriptylne. Just wondered if anyone else had noticed anything like this. Love Sue

My hair's coming out at a rate of knots, thanks to meth. Age is a factor too - hair growth slows as one gets older. Lucky you having thick hair - mine's very fine but I'm not bald yet. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

Hi No I havent come across that yet which is a bloomin' good job as i have very short fine hair LOL but you know how when you have a cold even your hair goes yucky.....hair seems to be the first or one of the first things to suffer no matter how mild the illness is

You're lucky to have hair to fall out, mine never grew! I was thinning at 16, mine you my beard is strong, if slightly greyer.
Neck/hands/shoulders, they all get the hot wheatbag treatments, OH makes up different shapes for me.
8)Its a grin, honest!
P.S. I can feel that BL&&DY winter coming on, I want the rest of the summer first............. I'm sure I didn't finish my summer all up? Where has it gone? Come to that, wheres the autumn gone?0 -
Hi Sue
I take Tramadol and amytriptiline too - I haven't noticed any loss of hair. Like you I have very thick hair. Do you know if this is a side effect of taking this medication? Just keep an eye on it.
Get someone to check through your hair and to see if you have any bald patches on your scalp.
Hopefully it's nothing to worry about.
