I just wanted to say hi again not been on the forum for a while, been struggling with arthur & DWP!!!!

Im still currently off work now been off for 5 months approx, and the condition is developing and getting worse nearly every week I have a new pain some where in my body I have lost a lot of use of my left hand due to the pain in my wrist, my jaw clicks regularly..... and so on, my Rhummy is altering my medication, and i start MTX this week, i have the tablets already but not to take them till sunday, I have mixed emotions about starting MTX, but I have decided that I need to try something new so heres hoping! Last week i wasnt able to have my usual painkiller Meloxicam as i couldnt afford the cost of the perscription, and i knew about it the pain was so bad, couldnt stand, couldnt get up off the settee, and I fell twice... it showed me how much of the pain the meloxicam covered...

I applied for DLA in April, been refused twice and now awaiting a date for the tribunal, a couple of months ago the DWP sent me a copy of my file, I eventually got a letter from the tribunal service asking me to confirm i wanted to go forward as they had not got the forms back they sent me! They had got my address wrong! I rang them and filled the form over the phone and the woman then advised me it was taking up to 6 months to get tribunal dates!!! Dont have a clue whats going to happen in november as my SSP runs out!!! Im so frustrated and angry, and all the talk of what the government is doing is scaring me having to rely on my anti-depressents more and more!

aaaaaggggghhhhh :!: :!: :!:

Hi Mark... it is nice to see you posting again... but I wish things were better for you than they are just now. :(

It's awful that you couldn't afford the prescription for the meloxicam... could rheuumy not prescribe it for you for collection at the hospital pharmacy?... that way it wouldn't cost you anything. :?

when your SSP runs out you'll get a letter from your employer that you fill in and send/ or phone DWP (your favourite govt agency and mine  ) they in turn will complete an application by phone for ESA. ..

I hope the Mtx helps you Mark.... I know it's a thought taking it, but if it dampens down your immune system and stops arther it would be well worth taking.... lots of us are on it too. you'll be well monitored by your GP and rheummy.

good luck too with the tribunal.... also very stressful and not good for arther. :|

keep in touch MArk and let us know how you get on with all of this.!

    ((((hugs))))

    Hi Mark,

Really good to see you posting. I did wonder where you had gone.

I am sorry its all so horrible for you just now and I really hope your date comes through quicker than they have implied. The system is flawed and next to useless but hopefully it will come right for you soon.

Where your meds are concerned might it be worth getting an H1 form from the chemist and filling it in and see if they will give you a help toward certificate? Might be worth a try if money is tight.

I am sorry I am not much help to you but nice to see you again. Please keep in ouch and I am another on the mtx and so far... I think it might be sort of helping. You take care Cris x

Oh lorica, how miserable. If you are on more than two meds it is worth considering a pre-payment certificate: it costs £10.50 per month and you just wander in to the chemist, show your valid card and all your meds are handed over, no extra moneys to pay. dorcas' suggestion is good, but I know she lives north of the border where the rules might be different: in England you also pay at the hospital pharmacy, but again your pre-payment card works there too! I cannot remember the form number, but your chemist will/should have the form for you to complete and send off. I average 9 items per script, it saves me huge amounts. DD
Have you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben

    Hi Lorica

I will say the same as DD - get a prepay asap!! pay monthly it is way way less than the cost of two or more prescriptions a month. You can do it online or on the phone.

Do nOT go without your meds please! this is your health and future :(

I hate the DWP and am too cross to speak about them at the mo.

I totally agree with you trying the mtx - I am proud of you :) I will cross everything that it works really really well for you and you ahve no problems on it.

When life is this rubbish - you need us more than ever.

    Please dont disappear -

    love and hugs

    Toni xx
