Hi
After information from you fab people. I have been taking Glucosamine for nearly 6 years. I was advised to give it a try after i had had my cancer treatment. I have taken various amounts during this period and at first took 2000mga day. I have dropped this dose to 1000mg in Julyand wonder if this would make any difference to any pain?? It has got worse but wondered if this was just a coincidence??( I have tried various other combinations of codliver oil and glucosamine togther at the start which made no difference but did find after a few months that Glucosamine worked at the higher level.)Sorry waffling on a bit.

    Hi Lupin
I may mix you up even more :!: sorry, my OH swears by it, but he take the highest dose, he has been it for around 2 years, he did stop once because he thought it wasn't working, but did he know about it.
I have taken it, but I didnt get much benefit, but I only took a lower dose.
I am seriously thinking of giving it another go, but a much higher dose.
Hope this helps a little bit

Hi Barbara, what dose was you on??? and what dose ws hubby on? I wonder if it is different for men. My husband took it for a while but he said it made no difference. The fact he kept forgetting to take it didn't help i am sure.

So you cannot get this on precription then? or does this depend on the area you live in. I buy mine through simplysupplements, i have not found any company cheaper. It works out pennies a day less than the sweets i eat...tut, tut. Shhhhhh Don't tell my dentist.

The recommended dose for Glucosomine is 1500 mgs daily . I used to take the Simply Supplements Glucosomine 1500 mgs combined with 1200 mgs of Chondroitin. I always believed they were helping, but I ran out, and decided to see how I got on without them. Found no difference whatsoever. Haven`t taken them now for over a year, and still the same result. Other people, however, find them helpful, so probably worth a try......Ange.

Hi, I used to take it too and the same as angle I ran out and forgot all about it. It didn't make any difference. My physio said if you try it, take it for 3months before you see any difference, I took it for longer but couldn't unfortunatly, see an improvement.

Someoen I used to work with took it and thought it made a big difference to her, but we are all different and I think you have to try these things yourself and see. I'd check with my GP first, especailly if you are taking lots of durgs. I think you shouldn't take it if your allergic to shell fish!

I hope it works for you if you try it. Love Sue

No the hospital oncol said upto 2000mg but was just interested what amount you and hubby took. I was OKish at 2000mg but cannot be sure that it will work or help until i try. They compared xrays on their system and there is a marked reduction therefore causing pain/so being referred to specialist. I cannot be that bad as she said they like to see you early??????? I thought pain was pain maybe i have this wrong.
