Hi folks please can someone advise.
Daytime I take Co-Codamol but night-time I take two Tramadol. anyway on friday night 9ish I took two Tramadol and went to bed, woke up at 4 in pain knew I would not sleep so took two moreTramadol, well from then I lay still all night till three o'clock on Saturday afternoon, don't belive I moved at all I was relaxed and in no pain but was awake thoughout and my mind was constantly racing about things - nothing of any significance from years ago. At the time I was in no condition to think straight but when I fianally got up after 18 hours in bed I really started to worry I trully belive that had the house been on fire I would not have been able to help myself. I live alone and if the worse happens I may not be found for weeks so need to be carefull.

Is this usual with Tramadol could it be that I had not eated for a while - also sick and nausious nest day and I am never sick.

    Hi Lulu
I came off tramadol around 4 months ago, its certainly worked on the pain, but I had really weird side effects ie strange dreams, but worse thing was the dizziness and nausea.
You do have to give it a chance, some people get on fine with it.
I now take amitriptyline at night.
Hope this helps a little bit

What strength tramadol? I have 50mg tablets, I only ever take one at a time. They don't kill the pain, they are pain dullers like the rest of them, just slightly more effective dullers. I have never had weird dreams or felt spaced out, but they are opiate-based and one should be careful. DD
Have you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben

    Hi

I take tramadol 50mg 2 tablets up to four times a day when I need it, I have never had any side effects like you described. I find if I take 2 before I go to bed and then need to take some more before I get up it can make me a little tired the next day and I am a little bit slower at work.

Maybe you should ask your GP/Consultant if you could take something else.
Hope things get sorted out for you.

    Hi
When I first tried Tramadol I felt terrible I had nausea, felt really dopey, I didnt take them for a while after that experience, I was on co-codamol but when they stopped working for me I went on Tramadol again and this time they were great I didnt have any side effects at all.

    Hi Lulu,

Oh that's not nice I know cus the pregabalin can do that to me... your mind races in all types of ways and you are so awake it almost hurts

I do take tramadol especially if I am about to do something stupid and heavy  I find it used to play with me a bit but the longer I was on it the less it did that to me.

Its not 'normal' for that to happen but its one of the things these drugs can do. With the pregabalin I forgave it everything its done to me cus its so good at helping to manage the pain. Not sure if you can do the same with the tramadol... Maybe have a phone appointment if you can with the gp and see what they think would be something I wonder if you should do? Sending a ((( ))) and a hope it was a one off. Cris x
