Hi,
Well I'm back and the lady that did the MRI knew about my hip op poss being delayed because of my back...at the end of the MRI she said {dont think she should have??} There is as lot going on in your back....quite a few prolapsed discs , etc.....dont know what that means as far as the hip op is concerened or what will be done??????????
Anyone any ideas? You know me I would rather know what is wrong and what is going to happen. Anyway....I went into the reception, got a cup of coffee and phone the Orthos Secretary who said she would check the computer tomorrow for results....thats about all I know....did any of you lurking in my pockets in the scan pick up anything else??? LOL

Love
Hileena

I don't think she should have said anything: she isn't an expert on these matters and she has probably set off all sorts of hares running round your mind. She is a naughty lady. Try not to fret (silly, I know) and I hope you get a proper diagnosis, and soon, from someone who knows their stuff. I wish you well and I do apologise for not being there today, I was riding my white charger to skezier's rescue - poorly, as it turned out! I wish you well and I hope you hear something soon. DD

    Hi Hileena
DD's right - I know it's hard but wait until you hear back from your consultant. They have to see you again due to closeness of the op date. Try not to worry until then (easy to say but not to do!)

    Hi Hileena,

Will you be able to contact them tomorrow?

You really need to know as I'm sure you will be worried until everything is explained to you.
Only your doctor can give you the full picture.

    Hugs,

    Hi Hileena,

you need feedback from the consultant re your MRI asap, especially now the radiographer has given her own take on things!! Get on the phone tomorrow ... I have no idea how this will/wont affect your hip op or even what treatment is offered for prolapsed discs ...No wonder your back has been giving you grief!!

Keep us posted and try not to worry!!

I have had OA since mid twenties. It affects my hips and knees. I had a THR on the left aged 30 and now have a resurface-replacement on the right - done May 2010.

    Hi All
I would imagine if the results are through {like the radiographer said they would be} she'll be in touch {the secretary I mean}with him and someone will be in touch with me about an appointment withing a few days.
She is very good and he's excellent. He was the one said ring his secretary as soon and I had it and they would take it from there.
I suppose if I dont hear anything by late tomorrow I might be tempted to ring them but I'll try and leave it until the next day

    Hi Hileena,

The MRI results need to be interpreted by the consultant. Only he will be able to decide how the information from the scan will/ will not impact on your hip op...

it wasn't really appropriate for the radiographer to have told you about what she saw....naught naughty!

I hope you don't have to wait too long until you see the consultant.
let us know please hileena!

    Hi
Yes I know she shouldnt have told me either LOL...never talk in front of the patient and if he is in a coma the patients hearing is always the last thing to go so dont talk LOL

Anyway....it shouldnt be long but I cant help but.....not worry....but mither about it if you know that word LOL

In the meantime.....I'm on 50m diclofenic at night {slow release} and 50 during the day...so thats 9pm and 9am.....Its not working. i was on 75 diclofenic and wasnt getting wakened with pain and if I was really bad during the daytaking a couple of ibroprufen {dont know whether i should have been.....I think that worked better that the 50 plus 50 during the day......I'm very sore at the moment....my back {just on one side and above my buttock} Not being a drama queen but its agony...can hardly move....any suggestions Just about to get the microwave going with my wheat pad in it....anyone know about taking diclofenic and ibroprufon together.....I dont mean literally together I know they are both anti inflammatories but if i have this slow release one at 9pm at night {lasts 12 hours} what about a couple of doses during the day.
I'll never get an appt withn the GP....I'll probably see the Ortho before that LOL

I had to go out this afternoon and when i got back there was a message from the health authority on the phone....

I thought it would be about the MRI but no....it was from the OT lot saying they were delivering all the stuff on Fri fro the THR!!!!!!!

Dont want all that about the house if the op is going to be delayed.

I'll ring the secretary tomorrow and thats as good an excuse as any to ask if she has got any results yet......I dont want to put the OT people to all the bother of coming out and deliverin g the stuff and then getting a call to come and pick it up again

Hi Hileena - that is a good reason to ring! I'm STILL waiting for my OT stuff to be collected ... Have you resisted the urge to google ... I'd be exactly the same.

    Hi Iris,
I rang NHS Direct about it and she said i could take the 75 at night and still take the 50 the next day but i really needed the nod from my doctor {diclofenic} Couldnt get my GP :x Nothing new there! so I put myself back on the 75mg at night and decided I would try codeine during the day if I neeeded it . That seems to be working...the pain is gradually easing off thanks
    Love Hileena

    Hi
A bit of an update.....not much!!!!
I rang the secretary this morning....still no results. I told her about the OT equipment arriving tomorrow morning and her suggestion was to get through to OT and ask them to delay it.
She said meantime she would e.mail again and tell them we needed the results asap.
Just had a call back from OT saying OK we'll cancel your stuff. i asked if they could deliver it a week later....if they cancel it and only deliver to this area once a week they wont let me out of hospital without it {as far as I know}.....I'll be stuck if they are doing the operation.
I think shes going to do that....didnt sound very happy about her plands being disrupted.
So next thing is sit and wait for a call from his secretary. I feel really down now......not knowing what is going to happen...I hate that situation
