Ankle help?

Hello all,
I'm wanting some help. Yesterday I had some pain in my left ankle bone. Woke this morning and honestly felt like something heavy had fallen on my ankle. It was excrutiating. Very swollen. Never happened to my ankle before-no injuries to it, nothing. All day it's been bothering me when weight bearing. It's now moderately swollen but very painful-a sharp pain. Am I being silly and getting worried about nothing?
Any ideas/help?

I would ask a doctor just incase it is something they could do about it. Hope it feels better over the weekend.

Hi Cris,
Thinking about you earlier when I read the post started by Toni. I've just got my scan appointment through for my jaw-MRI on Monday. My ankle is giving me alot of bother and all my nerve pain is back. Had new windows done but they burnt my hall carpet. They paid for a new one but on the way to choosing it, a guy crashed into my car. I then dropped my mobile down the loo  Apart from that I'm ok How's things with you?

my feet/ankles very very sore and swollen too.
i've got oa spine, neck, knee and had one hip re-surface.
i wasn't sure the feet/ankle thing was oa but going off other posts it seems like it must be. walk with crutches in house sometimes.
went docs and he said they looked normal to him
quite a few people have commentated on how swollen they are so i don't know where doc was looking :!:
not much help to you though, hope you feel better soon.
is the phone still working  :roll:0 -

Hiya you!!!!
good to see you posting
I hope it's nOT the start of OA in that ankle now as well
If you think it's getting better and decide NOT to go to the docs (See? I know what you are like  ) at least make a note of what and when happened so you can tell someone next time you go eh?
Dont forget a lot of us with 'jaws' are interserted in your MRI. So good luck with that and let us knwo how it goes

Hi,
I'm both glad and worried about scan. They say they want to see where my cartilage has gone to!!!!!! What if I don't have any?
Don't know when I'll get the results cos they'll go to my consultant who will then contact me to discuss. I'll let you all know how I get on.
Toni, you do know me too well. I'm not gonna bother going to the docs-can't be (you know) with what they'll say. I'll just get on with it.
Cris, big hugs((())) and I'll give you a little pat when you're in my pocket!

Hi Magenta
I have Psoriatic Arthritis in my hands and feet and of course ankles.
Do your ankles lock up when you walk. I normally have to use a stick because my right foot all locks up when I am walking, but now my left ankles and toes all lock up.
Arthur is a minefield really. I've got fed up with going to the gp. GP's have only just got round to believing that there is a thing such as arthritis.
I do hope your scan don't show up anything too sinister and you can get answers about your ankles. All I can suggest are cold packs. Use hot and cold alternatively. Let's face it, arthritis affectsthe ligaments. About 7 years ago, I was suffering for nearly 9 months with a probable torn ligament, which refused to get better, so that was when they referred me.
good luck

Ps A stick - nevre thought of that! Good idea if you are brave enough so you can take some of the pressure off the ankle.0 -
Hi again,
Had scan done and it was ok. I was quite stressed about it all but at least it's over. Probably have to wait about 6mths for results
My ankle is ok, pain subsiding. It doesn't lock though. Could just be a strain-dunno.
Will let you all know how I get on,
Magenta xx0
