IT'S D DAY

Well the day has arrived. My 2nd Art Exhibition.
Worked like a trojan again, getting it all set up. Needless to say, it wouldn't be possible without my lovely hubby. Just how much support can a person get.
Another person I would love to thank for his support is Philip Brooke-Stephenson from AC Midland Area. He has been a wonderful PR for me, pity we couldn't break through the arrogance of our local rag. They went to all the trouble of coming a photographing myself with some of my pictures, they had the story all told for them. Then not to have mentioned it. Has made me feel somewhat worthwhile. If I wasn't me, then I think it would have done. But all through life, I have had so many knocks, you just pick yourself up and carry on.
We hope it will be a success and hope to raise plenty of dosh for AC
Thanks Philip

Joy

Well guys, thanks so much for all your lovely messages and support.

I have sold two pictures - not enough to take on bodyguard, but Jim my husband is good at that. Rehab, thanks for putting the link in. I should have done that but was in a bit of hurry to get off.

Another day tomorrow. Only wish the local ET could have covered the story. Philip was on to them aswell. That could have made some difference to a few more people taking an interest.

Never mind. I have put some pictures on FB. I have deactivated it for a few days. Couldn't cope with it.

Looking forward to meeting you Jan.
All the best and will report back tomorrow or Monday

    Well ladies and gentlemen.

I'm glad that is over for this year. It was so so hard work, but I sold two pictures. Sold 5 last year.
People are being careful with their money maybe and the local paper didn't put anything in the paper,

I am absolutely exhausted now, so I am going to bed, but just wanted to say thanks to you all for your support.

I'm afraid I only raised £20, but hope to raise some more on the Kettering Art Market nearer Christmas. I raised about £50 last year.

    Speak to you tomorrow.
    Goodnight

    Hello folks.

Well, I sold two pictures of my own and Mary, who was sharing the room with me sold 1 at £20.
Not a lot really, last year I sold 5.
I think it is a sign of the times.
I made £40 for Arthritis Care, not a lot.

I have, however, agreed to donate 10% from all the rest of my sales I might make at Kettering Art Market. I'm hoping to do the Christmas Art Market so long as the date doesn't clash with my weekend away in Norfolk.
'Every little bit helps', the saying goes.

    Hi Joy,

Its all against a back drop of lack of money and confidence so a very well done.

I have sent the pics on and will do a load more but Joy everyone has said just how good they are! I am still stunned over the detail and colours of the Bee painting!

You have done so well cus its not an easy market just now. (((( )))) and will get round to answering you in a min. Cris xx

    Hi there Skezier
I have been trying to read back over the last few weeks and being very upset over Angie, I wondered if I had said something.
You do wonder and I would hate it to have been me. Sometimes you can joke about something and it's different when you write it down.

Cris, you have been so supportive to me and thank you.
And everyone else who has made lovely comments, thank you.
I shall have a few more D Days through the next few months but the next big big big one will be The Castle Theatre in Wellingborough, near where I live in Northamptonshire. I shall have to get 10 pictures done on Norway before Dec 2011 and considering half of them will be oils, need to get started.

I had a brilliant write up in the Fundraisers Newsletter too.

Now I must get on and get some painting done before the light goes completely. My arms have been painful just lately with the PMR so I'll see how much I can do.

    Catch you later

    joy
