now I've got a date to aim for again I can now get bits and pieces done early silly things like get my hair cut and coloured as i wont be able to do that at home , see the chiropadist , get cards ready to write I'm right handed so can do that, mum will love to wrap the pressies shes dead nosy lol, must hide her one though, got daughters asthma nurse check up the week after my op, so might get that brought forward, anything else will need sorting so out come my lists lol I can never manage with out lists, got final christmas lists done now as well,
am a little scared now about Op but with the rain my wrist is aching so much, I will be relieved when its done , I'm wondering how long I will be in as a neighbour had a tangerine size tumour removed from his head/brain on a Thursday and was home Friday evening, same hospital as me, :shock:0 -
Hi Lavendar lady
Glad you've got another date for your wrist.....it's awful when an op is cancelled.
What sort of recovery period is a wrist....hips I know ...wrists I dont
As for having your Christmas shopping done and wrapped.....shame on you DD for making the majority of us feel bad How can anyonelike wrapping....I detest it....same as I detest ironing

How are you feeling this morning lavenderlady?
I like the sound of your lists! getting organised before an op can make a huge difference to how you manage things afterwards.
Your hospital sound a bit in a hurry with their discharge plans don't they? I was in for 3 days with my TWR (went in the day of surgery... counting as day1)
How's your elbow now? did you get a steroid injection to settle it down? (sorry if you said on another thread and I missed it)
having the support of the forum helped me so much when I had my op... helped calm the nerves beforehand! and peeps good wishes, interest and support afterwards saw me through the post op ups and downs.
so please keep in touch with us all!

Hi Lavenderlady,
Well you sound as if you will be well prepared. I have to admit that I do my Xmas shopping early too.
Having lists are a great idea. Good luck with the heart scans results. Then it will be all systems go.
In the mean time give yourself some much earned TLC.

Hi lavender lady, I'm so pleased you have a new date through to aim for. Looks like you have the perfect excuse for others to do the Christmas hosting this year.
DD, you could add Christmas gift wrapping to your CV and use it to boost your earnings ... special rates for us lot of course ... I'm in the queue behind Lavenderlady - not that I have bought any presents yet of course (did aim to have them all bought before I returned to work ... then along came project clutter clearance!!)
SpeedyI have had OA since mid twenties. It affects my hips and knees. I had a THR on the left aged 30 and now have a resurface-replacement on the right - done May 2010.0 -
Best of luck Kidda I hope it goes as well as my hip op.I think everyone on this forum will be rooting for you.A month is not too bad to get prepared.0

Just been reading your thread lavenderlady and it is great news that you have a date for your op. 1st nov not long to wait, and good for you having done your xmas shopping.
Wrapping is the worst bit for me too, my mum normally does mine too. I used to love it but now it is just too difficult.
Hopefully then your wrist will be like new for xmas.
Thinking of you
