firstly i hope noone is suffering too badly in this cold weather
i need a bit of advice or support. my husband is wonderful but apart from letting me rest, there isn't much he can do. ive been suffering from symptoms over the last few days that are more aggressive than normal. this year i was diagnosed with full body oa (still investigating for inflammatory arthritis) and more recently fibromyalgia.
i can put up with the pains, ive been dealing with them since july 09 but its the other stuff im struggling with. i know fatigue is all part of this but the feelings ive been getting lately are so bad, i feel sick constantly. its not just tiredness, its being completely wiped out and out of it. im not just having afternoon naps, im out for hours at a time. it was nearly 4 hours this afternoon and when i wake up i feel ill, sickly and nausious, my eyes hurt and whilst i dont have a full on headache, it feels like i have a very tight swimming cap on. my appetite is disappearing and ive always had a good appetite but i can barely be bother to eat lately. i only eat the minimum i need so the pills i take dont knock me even more sick.
is this all part of it or have i caught a bug or something. does anyone else feel this bad? ive felt sickly and tired in the past but never this bad, is this the illness taking full effect now? im on co-codamol and have been told these could be knocking me out. im going to make an appointment to see my gp next week but im just curious as to whether anyone else feels so bad?
im so fed up. ive been keeping quite a positive attitude to it all until lately. like i said, i can handle the pains, just not all this tiredness and sickness.
is this what its gonna be like now?
sorry to ramble on, im just feeling like a newbie all over again x

Sounds familiar! Remember to believe in yourself, don't be failed by your feelings, pain is a very real thing.
Sometimes we have to accept that we feel bad and just can't cope, a level that is different for all of us, thats when we need more support.

you need to go back to gp it sounds like the pain is stopping you sleeping you need better meds and help good luck it does get better valval0

Hi Caroline,
I am sorry your feeling like this but know where your coming from. Its horrible and well it could be down to the tablets.... or the fibro....
I think you do need to see your gp and when do you see a rumo again? See I don't think the tablets your on are doing their job for you and actually I think they can cause nausea but am not 100% on that bit.
Maybe a change of tablet routine could help you? I so hope you soon feel better. ((( ))) Cris x0 -
a couple of weeks ago i felt just like you,i couldn,t stay awake was having hot flushes felt sick lost appetite dizzy etc,i went to docs thinking it could be menopause, had blood test,it was normal, doc said it could be a virus,i feel much better now,but looking on menopause forum,so many get these symptoms and it dosn,t always show on blood test,so i think i might be going through menopause,i hope you feel better soon ,go to docs and get checked out,0

Hiya
this does sound familiar
As one with inflamatory arthritis
the exhaustion is so incredible. Whe you are having theses time do what Elna told me - have the sleeps set the alarm, but have them.
Have you checked your temperature?
note all this down it IS relevant.
when do you see 'someone' next? They need all this info.
ONce you are on the right meds things SHOULD pick up.
Love

This sounds like inflammatory/fibro stuff to me, that sheer exhaustion can only be that. I have had times when I have slept for England, the more I slept the more tired I was. You say that investigations are going on at the mo, so let's hope they come up with some answers. This doesn't sound right, dippy. I hope you new, large and very bouncy puppy is providing some comfort! DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

good morning all 8) hope the sunshine is reaching you today
thanks for all your replies,i appreciate them alot. ive done a little investigating of my own.... i changed the co-codamol to normal paracetamol instead and loe and behold i feel soooo much spritelier (is that a word?? lol)
ok the pains maybe a little stronger but i can handle them now, however the nausia, terrible tiredness and headaches have gone. don't get me wrong, a little nap in the afternoon is still on the cards just not for four hours at a time lol... yesterday is was about 40mins and i woke feeling much better and less groggy.
i am still due to see my gp this week so i will mention all this but for now, i think i'll just stick to the paracetamol for now, at least i feel awake!
thanks for the replies again
