hi
any one tried the black cherry extract?
I have bought some and wonder if it will help?
It is supposed to help with sleep as well as it has melatonin in it
Also stupid woman in the supermarket whacked her basket in to my bad hip, i could have shouted of the words would have come put!!!
Got my "special" shoes  as well and it seems to be helping and you cant seem to notice the difference my students have been lovely about it. Need to get my trainers done now!!
Thanks
Gemma

I have not gone down the black cherry route: if cutting-edge meds do very little then wolfing down fruit seems pointless too. I tried rosehip extract, which did ease the pain for a while, then the arthrtitis realised it was actually losing the battle so upped its game. I don't bother now, they cost and do little.
Good news on the shoes tho - I hope they are comfortable and help your walkiing. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0 -

I was told my my rheumatology pharmacist that i shouldt take any supplements when i started on the sulpha. I was taking multi vitamins and cod liver oil and she told me to stop. Would this be classed as a supplement?0

Advice varies from person to person, bailey. It depends on what form of arthritis one has and what meds one is on: OA ers may well benefit from cod liver, rosehip, cherry whatever, but the treatments involved in RA etc are totally different in nature. Hi,
I'm all for trying anything if it is a natural product and theres a chance it may help my body cope with things better, if they don't necessarily help the RA maybe they are helping boost my immune system
I've started drinking green tea which is supposed to be full of antioxidants, and I recently tried fresh figs (maybe mine were past their best as they tasted awful to me!).
I wouldn't spend a lot of money on expensive supplements though; I think you need to know what you are doing when using them, or at least consult an expert.
