I have been prescribed this little red steroid again to help me out until the Humira is either prescribed or denied.......now,, here is y question - when prescribed 3,4 or whatever tablets per day, do you take them all at one, or intermittantly throughout the day?
previously, i took the tablets at intervals (1 at a time), but the Pharmacist insisted that the 3 tablets that i have been prescribed should be took all at once every morning
any ideas

I take mine all together in the morning. This mimics the body's own natural production. The pharmacist is right. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

Take all mine together as well in the morning after breakfast, that is what I was told. Junexx0

Hi Scorpio
Sounds like you must trust the pharmacist and peeps here who have answered your question and take them in one go.

Hi Scorpio
In line with what the others have said, I was told last week that I should take them all at once in the morning. I had been taking them at night and I have split the dose in the past too. Probably best to stick with what the pharmacist has advised and see how you get on.
Good luck!

don't ever take them late in the day - you won't sleep!0

Again, in one dose with breakfast. DO NOT take them at night or you'll never sleep!
Good luck with the humira decision. xx0 -

my last course i tok in intervals with the last being at night........can't say i noticed any sleep problems though - LOL
thanks again0 -
You took a very small dose throughout the day, so it probably didn't affect anything! I hope they work this time. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

TBH they are not working this time, when i took them periodically throughout the day they worked perfectly - no pain, no problems; this time i am still getting terrible paing in the thumbs and forefingers
heyho, such is life

The major problem about these drugs is that not only do they not always work (despite having 'worked' before) they do affect people differently. In the past injected steroids have had little effect on anything for me, but the continual drip, drip, drip of a daily oral dose does help me cope. They don't affect the arthritis, they don't affect the pain levels, but they do affect my attitude to it all and my ability to cope. I think yours might be doing just that, judging by the tone of your teaching thread! DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0
