Hi all,

Was just wondering if anyone has suffered irritable running eyes. Im thinking this could be a side effect of methotrexate or enbrel which iv been on only for a month (enbrel). Iknow its not a major problem but it is driving me a bit mad!

thanks sharon

    Hi Sahron

are they really running or are they maybe dry and so they are running to try to moisten themselves??

Only asking as mine can get v dry. If it might be you can buy artificial tears from the chemist to try?

    Love

    Hi Sharon,

I think its best to get some help on this one as I also think its a side effect from mtx.... Its well might not be and Toni's suggestion of going to see the chemist is a good one cus it could be so many things. Just needs to be checked out \I think. I hope it soon stops. Cris x

Hi I get dry itchy eyes from heyfever, so I can sympathise a bit. I use drops (anti-hystamine), or just bathe my eyes in barely warm water. It drives me mad and is much worse if I rub them, so I try not to but sometimes I find I've done it without thinking!!!

I'd ask the chemist or go and see the doctor, as eyes are so delicate! Love Sue

Good luck at the docs then - lets us know what it is.

Hope you're not allergic to your eye make-up!

    There's a thought :?

    Hi Sharon

I too suffer with my eyes but they're dry rather than runny. Apparently I don't make good tears. I have to use special eye drops 4 times a day for the rest of my life! It could be a side effect of your medication if it continues go and see your GP. I'm an OA sufferer so can't help.
I think anything to do with your eyes affects what you do so I sould get it looked at.

I think when I was on enbrel it came with a leaflet, you could check that for mention of running eyes as a side-effect, likewise your methotrexate booklet also has info on side effects. DD
Have you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben

    Hi
went to doc, she thinks it could by dry eye which can apparently come with ra, god we are spoilled arent we! Anyway i o go to nurse on thursday for a test to confirm this.

Did try changing my makeup as I thought maybe an allergy also was anti histamine for possible hayfever!

So we shall see what thu brings probably more medication to add to the colletion.
