Hi all
not been around for ages very difficult time struggling, had hosp ap today changing my meds from meth/plaquenil/celebrex to azathioprine/plaquenil and some new painkiller (co-coldomol if required to top up). Have mixed connective tissue diesease (bit complicated don't really understand anyway within it present with ra/sjogrens/raynayds/cutaneous vasculitis so the usual aches, pains, stiffness, fatigue, night sweats, general feeling unwell etc.) Now gonna be off for four weeks to hopefully allow me to recover/get new meds in system as past ones not working. Anyway would really appreciate ideas on occupying myself whilst I'm at home? I've spent most of my time since mid-august at home on/off in work so have dabbled with daytime tv but thats it.
Take care
Luv Kelly

Have a look at some gardening books. Plan next year’s garden and even if you cannot do it yourself most people enjoy talking about plants. That way you will have more knowledge to join in the conversation.
Puzzle books keep the brain box going. Go through all your old paperwork, get some of it shredded makes you feel as if you have achieved something.
Hope the new meds work for you very soon.

    Hi Kelly

    Not easy is it?

Obvioulsy daytime TV is pretty well atrocious!!

I wonder are there any series you missed when they were out (I missed that 24) if so you could rent a box set and waht it all in one long hit??!!

    Love

Puzzles, reading novels or the more serious stuff if you can summon the concentration, jigsaws, music, sewing/embroidery or knitting (hands permitting), cooking (if legs permit), sorting out one's junk cupoboard/s, catching up with friends, join a club and make some new riends, chat to us on here, do some AdEd classes, learn a new skill or as julie suggested, a language. Buy an iPad and sit comfortably whilst surfing. Compose a letter of great mutual interest to an old friend. Make a shopping list. Prepare the veg. Pub for lunch. Paint a masterpiece. Write a thesis on arther. Listen to R4. Listen to Classic FM. Watch Loose Women (don't ask). Decide on next summers holiday with full itinerary. Clear out yer cupboards. Make some jam. Bake a cake. Bake me a cake? Be silly. Have 10 mins walk in a different place every day. Library. Internet cafe. Make a list of friends you haven't spoken to for 6 months and phone them. Answer all the topics on AC Forum. Sleep, 40 winks every afternoon. DIY. Garden. Can I stop now.....?

    8)Its a grin, honest!

P.S. Now cross out the ones you think I don't do!

Apart from chatting with mates on Facebook and other scuba diving forums I belong to, I'm using my time to do some more family tree research. Also reading, watching borrowed DVDs, and internet shopping

thanks for all your fabulous ideas, I must make a note of them and also saw on another post people make a list so when their having a bad time they can refer to it. At moment not feeling up to much but hope as new meds kick in and hopefully sucessfully I'll be able to action some of your ideas. At the moment its day time tv and husband is motivating me taking me out in the afternoon with our dogs for a short walk.
    Take care
