To show my rebellion against all painful joint and scabby skin i have took the 1st step toward being a teacher......i did my degree whilst the rumblings of arthur were licking up my leg 7 years ago, when i was 26 - since then i have never been well enough to start a PGCE........but today i have started the process
I WILL BE A TEACHER IN 2 YEARS
Why should i lay down and die?
my P is so bad at the moment that my fingers are splitting and bleeding - before i would have moaned; today i shall have a sense of humour about it and look at it as a positive - at least i can't pick my nose

my original plan was to lecture adults in history, but my love for seeping scabby, manky joints fettled thos plans
my idea then was to teach secondary, but history teaching is a dying breed as they are now amalgamating the subject to a new subject; Humanties........jobs are scarce
so with that in mind i am gon to teach primary - specifically 7-11 year olds - there is a real shortage for males in primary schools, so jobs should be plentiful, which also gives me high hopes for swift progression and promotion within a chosen school0 -
Good for you! You put flippin Arthur in his place and your `P` with it!! I hope your studies go well and you get a well deserved teaching job.

Hi, Thats a sensible way of looking at your future career, finding out what shortages their are and aiming your career towards that area, rather than insisting that theirs only one thing you want to do and refusing to accept any other options. Today with work so difficult to find, more people will have to accept this or face disappointment. Well done, you sound like the sort of person who will make it, sensible and determined!!!! Love Sue0

You sound very positive. It is good to have a plan.
In the interim, until start your PGCE next year - I recommend you do some voluntary work in a local primary school. It will look good on your CV, but more importantly it is a great way to learn what does/doesn't work and will make your teaching practice on your course much easier.
SpeedyI have had OA since mid twenties. It affects my hips and knees. I had a THR on the left aged 30 and now have a resurface-replacement on the right - done May 2010.0 -
Good stuff Scorpio.
I applaud you.
I always say that the most powerful medicine we all have is our mindset.
Good luck and enjoy.

I don't want to be a wet blanket but think very carefully before going into Primary school teaching. It's a very demanding job both physically and mentally even if you are 100% fit and healthy.Between us Ceri and I taught primary for a total of 70 years However,it's a cracking job interesting, fun and rewarding If you feel up to it go for it0

cheers
i appreciate how demanding it is, but i have a memory like an elephant, which needs stimultaion - i am currently working in a call centre which is mentally draining me dry...........time to go into teaching0
