Much as I love Christmas, I agree with you whole-heartedly. Christmas merchandise should be banned from shops until 01 December. Similarly, Easter eggs should not appear in supermarkets on 01 January and holidays for 2011 should be promoted in 2011. Back-to-school displays should not be allowed in the weeks running up to the summer break, and Hallowe'e junk should be banned. Tell me why you are Trick-or-Treating, and you may get a sweet. No tell, no sweet. DD

I'm with you Del...they try to panic you in to buying early...well I am not going to panic :shock: I agree the 1st of December is early enough.

I agree with you delboy there is no need to shove it down ur throats. it's there for people who want it but I am a miserable so and so and I don't want it not from September till end January when everyone stops talking about what a great time they had. I think I would feel better about it if it were in summer and after all the great man was supposed to have been born in July anyway!

Don't you just love the shop where they play " I wish it could be Christmas every day"? It does seem to be a lot earlier this year. Tesco usually wait till they have had us for Haloween and fireworks before they start on Christmas. At least I think we have had the last of "Barbee" music for this year.

So do I skezier! But only from December 1st. 6 foot tree, pre-lit with 300 bulbs, I add another 300. Needs must. DD
