Hi
Sorry to moan but I just dont know how I feel at the minute....I should have been in at 7am this morning to have my 2nd THR.
I feel a bit weird although I know going the back route first is best. Dont know when I'll hear from him for an appointment.
Didnt think it would affect me but i feel very weepy and have done most of the week. Dont know if its because of that or not
Sorry...I'll stop rambling now

Such a lot of soul searching, and preparing oneself goes on before agreeing to surgery Hileena. You finally got your head around the fact that it was all going to happen, then........all change. Not just that, but with a new set of worries to contend with. So, not surprising that you are feeling so confused, and emotional.
Take some soft time, buy yourself something nice, eat a big caramel choux bun.......Oh, and go and get those Diclo`s!...........Ange.x.0 -
Hi Ange
Like the sound of your medicine

Hileena,
I'm sorry you've been messed around. A few years back I had my op bumped as am emergency came in (fair enough) but I even had all my drips/canulas in by this point. I'd come to terms with leaving Meg as a new born for the day and then was told I'd have to do it all again the next week. I know it's not quite the same but even then I was weepy about it all. You get all psyched up and then you don't know where you are. As usual Ange has the answer and I think I'll be taking some of her medication as well. Lets put our feet up together and enjoy those caramel choux treats!

Of course it is because of that. You had screwed your courage to the sticking point about your second op, you knew the discomfort and inconvenience that was on its way, but you wanted to be sorted by Christmas, a good target date. Now, due to circumstances that are absolutely beyond your control (despite it being your body) it's all gone wrong and you are no further forward. I think a good grizzle is entirely justified, followed by at least half a tub of your favourite ice cream and some cake. I feel for you. I am so sorry. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

I bet it is too Hileena
you have had such a shock so close to the operation date too.
Be kind to Hileena today - in fact ALL weekend

Hi Everyone
Well thats the day almost over.....I think a lot of the problem is that I had the first THR done so kept thinking....they would be doing this or that now plus the fact like you say....ready for it and now not in control any longer.....at least until I see the back specialist.
Saw the GP today about meds and he said "I'm not sure why they have delayed the op...do you know? Yes....tell me then
Oh he said....I then said have you seen the MRI results....NO....do you want to see them? I just happened to have them in my bag LOL
He said...Oh thats a lot of discs affected....but that was all apart from the fact that there were 5 affected and you only have 5 lumbar discs

Hi Hileena - it's really disappointing when you were all geared up to having it done today... Try and give yourself a few nice treats this weekend to take your mind of it ... the weather looks good.. can you go out for a run? (In the car I mean!)
Take care

Hi Marion
Cant remember where you are but the weather has been lousy here
Hasn't got light at all today.....raining/drizzling/foggyh/misty you name it we have it.
Not sure if tomorrow will be any better.
How's your new hip?

Hi Hileena
Such a difficult time for you  getting so close to your 2nd op and then having the feet swept away from you with the MRI results.
I hope the meds the doc has given you will help keep the pain under control. :? until the back doc referral comes through.
meantime do something, if you can, that's both distracting and pleasure-able for you. :!:
love and (((hugs)))

Hi Hileena,
Its hard flower to be geared up and then it all changes. You have to stay with getting the back looked at though cus my back does make a thr difficult from the recovery thing..... that's my excuse and I am sticking to it
I really hope they don't keep you waiting too long and well I am so rooting for you. ((( ))) Cris xx0 -
Not surprised you are feeling weepy Hileena, you had a plan - and now it has changed. The known has been swapped with the unknown.
I think you have been given some really nice advice - about treating yourself and being kind to yourself - I hope you are following ALL of that advice!!
SpeedyI have had OA since mid twenties. It affects my hips and knees. I had a THR on the left aged 30 and now have a resurface-replacement on the right - done May 2010.0 -
Hi
Oh I'm sticking with the back OK.....Not guarantee what I'll say {depends on what they suggest} and as speedy says its swapping the known for the unknown.
I can imagine exactly where I would be now and what I would be doing if the hip op had gone ahead yesterday as planned...now ...not a clue what will happen. If I even knew what was going to be done I could accept it and find out about it....yu know what that means....firing questions at you lot LOL What I would do without this forum I dont know

Hi hileena, I hope you are having a good day today. The weather here is smashing, I've been sitting in the garden, trying to soak up some Vitamin D - I think it's supposed to help matters but the words salt and pinch spring instantly to mind. Thinking of you - you take care. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

Hi DD
Its not raining here but it is certainly not sunny.
Very dull and damp {even if its not actually raining at the minute} Thats the Irish coming out in me
Enjoy getting your Vit D.....even if pinch and salt come to mind
